Grand Theft Auto Double Pack
Review by Jaxx4059
"HA! And you said that it wasent going to happen!"
And you said that it wouldn’t make it to any other system! Well guess what, you were wrong. It looks like that we finally get a game of the year game. Now that we got it we can play it. The game that EVERYONE is talking about. Now we Xboxer’s can now talk about it too. We want a game that we can talk about forever. And now, only Xbox and PS2 exclusives.
Gameplay: 8/10
Gameplay I would have to say is very good. Playing the game is very easy and very fun. If you have been playing the PS2 version for a while and have switched to Xbox ver. Then you may need to take some time to get used to the controls. If you haven’t played the PS2 version before then I am sure that you will get used to the controls very quickly. Now, there are some big and small flaws in this game. Some of the big ones are, street disappears, and the game freezes when you try to enter a building, or a car or motorbike. For those of you that has just got an Xbox, then you got it just in time. You get the chance to get one of the best games that will ever come out for Xbox just in time for when you bought it. Those of you who don’t have an Xbox, home that you get one for Christmas. ; )
Story: 7/10
Coming from getting both GTA: III and GTA: VC (Grand Theft Auto: Vice City) I beat GTA: III the story dose not continue from GTA: III. I would say that the story is a little off, but the game is still a grate game. I would have to say, don’t let the story plot make you not get the game. Just because the story doesn’t really make any sense, doesn’t mean don’t get the game.
Graphics/Sound: 8/10
Graphics and sounds are a main part of the flaws. The graphics overall are GRATE. What I mean by flaws in this manor is that glitches will happen in a matter of time. The street and structures will disappear. When this happens you can’t see what is in your way, or where the road is (obviously). After 10 minutes, the people will stop talking which takes some of the fun out of the game. The reason is, you can’t hear some of their conversations that the gangs are having which are most of the time very funny. But hey, that didn’t stop me from buying the game!
Play Time/Replayability: 10/10
Your playtime depends upon what you do. This game is so big, it could take a year IF YOU WANT IT TO. I’m not saying it will, I am saying it could. The reason being, is that you can just drive around, but stuff, hold up stores, and all that good stuff. You can just drive around between missions. I think that this is the best feature in the whole game. I can just go around, steal cars, and even store them in my garage for future use (GTA: III) which is another very good feature that was not carried to GTA: VC.
Final Recommendation
I would say that no matter what, given as a gift, renting, buying, or searching for, this game is worth getting and keeping for as long and you Xbox can run. Weather you are switching from the PS2 and going to the Xbox, or starting fresh from the Xbox. You will have a game to talk about till Halo 2 and Fable.
