"No rainbows? What a rip!"

Haha, I love being sarcastic, as you can tell with this title. In all seriousness though, this game is as pretty as a rainbow. Well sort of. Anyway back on the task at hand. Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is a pretty good title. And as with most games that have XBOX Live compatibility, this game's most fun feature is......the online play! What a shock, I know. But, for those of you who may wonder which is best out of Rainbow Six: Raven Shield and Ghost Recon: Island Thunder...it depends. Do you want a sometimes frustrating, annoying, kill you in one shot shooter, or a bit more slower paced, still kill you in one shot shooter? If you picked the first one, get Ghost Recon. If you picked the second, then by all means read on about this game. Some may say this is three rainbows too many for the Rainbow Six series, but I actually like it.

Gameplay: 8/10
As I said earlier, this is not for a young person to play. Or anyone with a short temper. Mostly because they will do one of these things:

A. Cry
B. Break something
C. Throw something
D. Hurt someone who is near
E. All of the above.

Now that we got that out of the way, unless you want a teenage psychopath running through your house, I suggest not picking this title up. Because the gameplay is for the people who want a real shooter, that is as close as they can possibly get to being in a real war.

Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are real nice, as with most XBOX titles. But this one, is no where near that of Ghost Recon. This is a bit of a...eh how do I say it, dumbed down version. It is quite detailed with the guns (Is it me, or do most shooters go really into detail of the guns, but not really anything else?). They also went into detail of the wounds, which is a bit of a surprise. Why go into detail of showing a guy with a hole in his head, instead of making the backgrounds better? Oh well...wounded teammates make me laugh...for some reason.

Rent or Buy:
If you have never played any of Tom Clancy's games, then definitely rent this one. The only reason I say this, is I do not want to be responsible for the next serial killer because of this game's insane difficulty. This game ranks up there with Stuntman and Fire Emblem in difficulty. It makes you want to break things at times, but it makes you feel as if you have over came something when you finally beat it. Weird...

My Final Word:
Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is definitely one of the most realistic shooters you can get. Ever. This is not like SOCOM II, so do not think that it is, because in SOCOM II you can actually take a few shots before dying. This is most like, bang you are dead.
