Otogi: Myth of Demons

"Otogi: Puryfying demons has never been so much fun!"

Introduction:
As my feet touched the ground, I realized that something was wrong. There was... A Presence at the back of my mind. Then I noticed the Raven men, and I pulled out my sword, the Soul Shrine.

Raikoh, an assassin, has been plucked from the edge of death to atone for his past sins. He must purge many lands of demons, and you get to control him in his journey.

Story:
Deep story. You meet (and usually kill) many once-human (or close) enemies, and slowly a story will unfold. Incredible, and if you do not like the story, you can skip the movies using the start button, a great feature that many games did not include. You can check information on enemies at the start of every level, which is always fun.

Graphics:
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Scenery looks incredible. Looks even better once you knock it over by smashing enemies into it. Raikoh is extremely well made, and his movements are quite smooth. Gameplay:
This is the most important part of a game, and this is where Otogi: Myth of Demons excels. If you do not like hacking things to pieces and casting big spells on enemies, then this is not the game for you. Combat system is fairly simple, A for jump, B for weak attack, Y for big attack, and X for spell. You can use the left trigger to lock-on to the closest enemy, and the right trigger to dash. The right trigger and B (or Y) will make you flip farther into the air, and it gives you the impression that you are flying. Your magic meter is constantly going down, and using spells/dashing will steal from it, though purifying demons will grant you their magic. Difficulty: (Easy-Medium)
The biggest problem with this game is that it is far too easy once you learn what you are doing. It is extremely hard to win some of the earlier levels, but it seems to get easier as you get farther. 2nd play is cool though, yet still not quite challenging enough.

Replay:
Quite good. Many weapons to unlock, second play, and you can try to beat the levels fast and such.

Buy or rent?
BUY! Best game ever. My favorite Xbox game so far, buy it to fund the second game. 29 levels, and all of which are fun and a bit challenging. Get it off eBay, and you won’t be disappointed.
