SSX 3
Review by NoVa Lord
"Snowy gaming goodness"
SSX 3
It's tricky-oops wait...its even better!
Overview:
Snowboarding in video games has been stereotyped as un-fun and repetitive. But the SSX series has taught us all something totally different. If SSX was great and SSX: Tricky was a work of art...then SSX 3 is a masterpiece. Taking a great new step towards more non-linear gameplay, EA BIG strives to make this seem like your really carving down the mountain. The fact that this installment lets you earn cash to buy stats and gear is a welcome addition. Being able to customize your rider infinetely is a big replay option that will keep you playing just to find more cash to buy more clothes. But now with the in depth review!
Graphics: 9
The Xbox really pollishes the game in this department. Reflections are great...i mean you can actually see yourself in the cuball head of one of the riders. The graphics are wonderful. And the snow effects and avalanches are second to none. The backdropps coud have use some work though but this is nothing that will keep you from loving this game even more.
Playability: 10
The controls are flawless. And suprisingly they are very comfortable on the Xbox controller. This game is very easy to pick up and play...in other words little practice is needed to start...but much is needed to become a master.
Entertainment: 10
This game is so addicting you will be dreaming of it when you go to sleep at night. Extreme sport games are very easy to get frustrated with but this however is not. You will be happy to spen long amounts of time on one challenge.
Replay value: VERY HIGH
With ten characters to max out all their stats, countless collectibles, and finding all the spots...this game will keep you coming back for more and more and more and more. Although the Live compatability would have been a nice touch (darn stupid contracts, and sony).
Closing
This game is near flawless in that i only wished that there were more then ten ''REAL'' characters, and by real i mean that there are 20 unlockable characters, which have no voice overs or real worth. (ie: you cant use them on any mode except the main mode) this is the only thing keeping me from giving this a ten.
VERDICT
Rent it, love it, rent it again, realize your a moron because there is no way you can do what all there is to offer by renting it, return it, go buy it and play it endlessly.
