Voodoo Vince

"Vince, we love that voodoo that you do."

How'd you like a game where you can jab a needle into yourself, get run over by a train, or have an anvil dropped on your head and your enemies fall down dead? This, is that game my friend. Voodoo Vince is one of the best platformers I've ever played.

Story 8/10

Kosmo, the villain, capture's Vince's owner, Madame Charmaine, and is after her zombie dust to use it for magic. You play Vince (of course), and you must save her.

Graphics 10/10

The graphics in this game far outdo any I've seen in a platformer before. I have not found one glitch -- see through a wall, etc. -- in the graphics in this game. Everything is impressive, especially the glowing you see when Vince uses a voodoo attack or the bottomless pits you can fall into.

Sound and Music 9/10

The music is awesome, it fits all the levels in a spooky sort of a way. But the sounds are even better. Vince will make hilarious comments when you regenerate, pick up a bead, or get hit by a villain. The sounds of the voodoo attacks are very realistic and so are the sounds of some of the vehicles like the train, the plane, the speedboat, and the submarine.

Controls 10/10

Great controls!!!! We're talking amazing controls, very easy to adapt to and perfect for the levels. The controls for Vince and the 9 vehicles are top-notch, making you not have to strain to complete the puzzles, or just beat up on the enemies. I give the controls a 10.

Gameplay 9/10

Who knew a 10-inch cloth doll could be so addicting? The gameplay almost defines ''great platformer''. Like any great platformer, you have to collect things at certain parts, search for things, interact with different characters, and drive vehicles. But this game stands out in the way of completing levels and fighting bosses, it is not always obvious, you must explore. But it's not a kill-yourself-for-a-couple-hours-to-solve kind of game.

Replay Value 7/10

This game lacks replay value, bad. Buuuut, when you think about it, do any platformers have amazing replay value? Not very many. You might play this one through a second time, but this is definitely the game's weakest point.

Overall 10/10

This game is the best exclusive platformer on the Xbox so far. I hope Beep Industries will show other game publishers the right way to make a platformer so we can have more games like this. Vince, we love the voodoo that you do.
