Barbie Horse Adventure: Wild Horse Rescue

Review by TIME X

"If you're a kid pick it up....not that bad"

Little sister picked this up because her kiddy friends said it was good. So I watched her play it trying to fit the controller in her little hands and thought, this is a pretty good game in a pink horse suit. It really is a good game and delivers what it wants to. Let me break it down into several parts for you.

Gameplay: You, of course, are barbie. Like most girly barbie games you wear pink, giggle alot, and play with horses. Girls always liked horses so this game is a good idea on the developers part. But back to the gameplay. It's pretty good, the controls feel comfortable and it complements the storyline which is less than great. I like how even a 8 year old who can annoy you to death can play this with that huge controller, that's how good the controls are. The gameplays make this worth the cash, if nothing else does.

The Story: this is where there is space for improvement. The story centers around being cute and wearing pink rather than the task at hand which is to get your horse to be the nicest in the land. That means you do ''missions'' to get your horse to jump better, look nicer, and run faster. But instead of that your story centers around the color pink, and pink outfits, and voices, that if they had color, would be pink. And this isn't just something I noticed as a 16 year old boy, my little sister pointed this out to me as I was trying to get her off the xbox. So the story gets a bad grade. But the gameplay makes up for it since there are games with good playing systems and a less than great storyline.

The Music/effects: is surprisingly good. I mean, for a game about horses you'd think all you would have is those weird sounds they make but there's alot more. You get galloping, grass, wing, hair in the wind. Heck, if you weren't wearing a pink suit it would feel like a real horse riding simulater. That is another good part of the game, in addition to the game play the music and effects make up for the lack of story.

Rent or buy?
Rent, but only if you're a little girl. I'd expect daddy's or older brother's like myself to be reading this so don't get this as a present for a little girl. It will run itself out in a week, maybe 2. So I say rent it for a child and then bring it back to block buster. But it is a decent dame, 7/10
