"Best Tony Hawk game ever!!!"

Tony Hake Pro Skater 2X. A great XBOX Launch game and In my opinion the best Tony Hake game out there. This one is exclusive to XBOX and it is huge.

Stuff that makes this game great

Lots of levels: THPS2X has tones of levels, more then any other Tony Hawk game. It has all the levels from the original Tony Hake Pro Skater, all the levels from Tony Hake Pro Skater 2, and five brand new exclusive levels for THPS2X, including a dance club, subway, and even a construction site. All together you have 24 levels to choose from.

Create a level: To add onto all these levels, you can create your own level and use it in almost all the different game modes. You can also choose from several pre-made courses using the Create Park mode.

Several real skater too choose from: You can use lots of skaters including Burnquist, Caballero, Campbell, Glifberg, Koston, Muska, Reynolds, Rowley, Steamer, J.Thomas, Lasek, Mullen and of course Hawk.

Create-a-skater: Not satisfied of using real people? You can make your own skater, customize him and use him/her instead. You can even use you custom through the campaign.

Multi-player: You can play with you friends on one screen (1-4 player) or you can even use system link on your game, letting you play with 8 of your friends.

Sountrack: You also get the music that came with the original THPS2, Which included Rage against the machine, Papa Roach, and Powerman 5000. Which was great, not that I can say that about the rest of the music.

Custom Soundtrack: That’s right, If you don’t want to listen to any more of that horrible punk music you don’t have to. Heck you can listen to country if you wanted to (Although I don’t advise playing country in your XBOX, it may explode.)

Tones of gameplay modes: including, Carrier mode, Free skate, trick attack, and horse.

***

Graphics

The graphics in this game are quite well done, doesn’t compete with Halo you DOA3 but the graphics are very good, A lot better then the good ol’ PSOne.

Sound

The sound effects are what you would expect from a skate boarding game grinding, rolling, falling, all the good old stuff, and all of them are done quite well. Music is, well music, its just like listening to a CD, and is as good as you choose it too be (Using custom soundtrack).

Replay Value

There are lots of collectables to get like, extra Money, and Decks. Plus the multiplayer is always fun.

Controls

Controls are very simple, the same way they always were on the PSOne. Just with different button names. Y (top button) to grind, A (Bottom button) to Ollie (SP?), X and B (Left and right button) to do air tricks, left Joystick or D-Pad to move. ( The controls are basically PSOne controls translated onto a XBOX controller Y = Triangle, square and circle = X and B, and X = A.)

Rusty’s Final Thought: THPS2X is by far the best Tony Hawk game, I mean it has Warehouse and hanger in the same game, arguably the two best Tony Hawk levels ever. Anyway I advise any Tony Hawk game fan to pick this one up... i give it a 8.
