"The levels are great but...."

I got the game and I loved it, I really did. I had completed the first one and found the new one exciting on how long the levels are. The controls changed, but some moves were the same. I loved the character changes. I thought it would rock. Alas, I was slightly disapointed. Xander doing spinning kicks? Oh K. Xander being stronger than vamps? Oh K! Some parts lacked potential. Spike is something that should be better. Many people on the boards say vamps can bite vamps. But a vampire dying from a vamp hikkie? Come on! I think he should had his health drained and a vamp pulls out a stake. Okay, a vamp holding a stake around areas dosen't work, but he could have his head punched off! He could be burnt and turn to ash. Not fall on the floor and scream!

In my game, when Buffy or Willow etc, gets their necks snapped, they do tend to yell AFTER they are dead. Mmm o_0.

When you unlock stuff, ie. Interviews, Voice overs and stuff like that. You have to complete the level. It should be harder than that! I unlocked everything easily.

Grahics: 8

They are cool, I think they are very smooth and well done in the backgrounds, but Buffy's cheekbones are a little...wierd! She looks like she is sucking in air. Willow looks very odd as well. Xander is suberb, truely! Faith is gorgeous, as usual! Sid looks smooth, but Spike...well, looks constapated. Weapons are slick and recognizeable.

Sound: 5

The music is a great affect. You have tension, vamp attack. But voice overs sometimes sound bland. I fought two bat beasts and Buffy said after killing them both 'You are So dead, no really!' It doesn't have too much variety and they tend to talk after a battle, rather than in one . Kicks and punches sound like petty slaps, even kicking a metal door sound awful!

Gameplay: 7

The levels are great. I only wish you could save at checkpoints and load them up. I understand why you can't save in game, because you could make a mistake and have to load up another level to get there and do it right. You can pick up weapons and so can enemies. I don't see why though, you cannot see when an enemy bites you, they don't give you any time to react. I find it highly annoying, I block and as soon as I stop, I am a vamps meal deal! And you lose your health and they don't even do attacks, they just do the kill move on you. I like it when vamps hunt in packs. But it is sometimes too easy to kill them. You throw them onto the floor and run up and stake. If they are lucky, they will jump off the floor quickly, but it doesn't happen much. You see wood around to throw them on but it is hard (see controls).

Controls: 2

They suck. The moves are slow and the enemies are fast. In the first game, I always held R to target, now I don't even do that because they don't usually end up facing the vamps. Throws are a nightmare. A pathetic push to the ground to send them two feet away. You cannot even throw in directions, just forwards. Snore! If you whip out a long combo and the enemie dodges out the way. Your character is punching away at the air. Willow can throw enemies, it is quite stupid seeing as hand to hand isn't her strong point. Xander is amazingly strong and powerful. Vamps are unhealthy and pretty weak. It doesn't work on the scale. The way they tried to fix the bad fighting, was to bung three vamps against you. Even then Willow's sunspell dusts them quick.
Willow can do spells. Half cannot be performed in battle because you bash the buttons and end up doing the wrong spell, or you get punched in the face.

In conclusion: Good game with some big problems. Shame you can't change the difficultly.
