"Okay game but not great"

Well this game looks pretty cool. But always remember, look can be deceiving. This game isn’t all that and a bag of potato chips. I started out playing this game, liked it at first, but then it got really boring, and soon I just quit. But I kept playing for a little bit.

Graphics- 8/10

I liked the graphics, that’s one of the things that kept me playing. The monsters have great features, and great graphics of the environment and characters. I really think they did well with the graphics.

Storyline- 4/10

I couldn’t follow the story, I found myself always getting lost! If that wasn’t bad enough, this was starting to get confusing as well. I didn’t know my way around. The beginning was as clear as a window, but then as I went on I just couldn’t do anything.

Game play- 6/10

Well… The game play was alright, I liked the controls. It was hard though to get around to some places. You had to get something special or do something special to get there, or was it that at all? I got confused during this game. Like running around killing monsters and collecting things were pretty easy, but just the going from there was a bit of a challenge.

Sounds- 8/10

I liked the sound, good effects. Like jumping and slicing and other things. And it is cool when he is like, “ah yeah! Cha!” when he uses his weapon. You can hear it when he jumps as well, good sound effects. It can help sometimes so that when you hear these sounds it can kind of like warn you for monsters around, sometimes you can hear them.

Replay- 4/10

No, I could definitely not see many people replay this game, though if you really like it that much, I guess you would. I don’t think that it is a good game to keep playing over and over again, once is enough. Sure the graphics and sounds are good, but that’s not all in a game. The game play could have been a bit better and the story a bit easier to follow. Sure you need your challenges in your games, but I just couldn’t do this one.

I got this game right after I got my Xbox, which was the first Christmas it was out. It was a pretty good game, but room for improvement. If you are up for a challenge, get this game, try it out. You may want to rent it first though, just in case you are like me, and didn’t really like this game. It’s not that it is really bad, it is exciting at times, just doesn’t have that ump!
