James Bond 007: NightFire
Review by KolMartin229
"A decent new installment in the 007 series."
Introduction:
In 007 Nightfire, you play James Bond. You use a variety of different weapons and gadgets to try to stop Raphael Drake of the Phoenix International Corparation from taking over the world.
Gameplay: 8/10
This game has a lot of different weapons to use, all with a unique purpose. They include pistols, automatic guns, shotguns, and snipers. What I found cool about these guns were you can change it between two types of gunfire. For example, the Wolfram PP7 is usually SemiAutomatic, but by clicking the Alternate Fire button you can change it to a Silenced weapon. Another cool thing is when you use the Sentinel, because you can control the missile's location in mid-air to help destroy your targets. You have explosives like Fragmentation Grenades and Satchel Charges, but I refrained from using them unless I had to. Another fun thing about this game is that you get to use a bunch of gadgets to help you on your travels, just like the real James Bond. Some gadgets you use are the laser, which can burn hinges, the stunner, which can stun enemies from close range (this can help you on missions where you aren't allowed to kill anyone), the grapple, and the decryptor. What I liked about the decryptor was it deciphers door codes so you don't have to get them from other places. There are vehicles to drive, such as the Aston Martin car. A few missions let you drive this vehicle. There are also some missions that let you drive a snowmobile, and some that let you fly in a plane. You can also try to collect Platinum Medals on levels by raising up your score. Your score goes up by having high accuracy, being stealthy, and other things. You can also raise your score by doing the ''Bond Moves'' on the level. You can find these if you are smart. An example is instead of taking the normal trapdoor, find another trapdoor and use your lasers on the hinges. Then drop through and you will get a ''Bond Move'' token. Some things I didn't like about the gameplay were that some levels you weren't aloud to kill anybody, because they got boring fast.
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are pretty good in this game, although not up to XBOX standards. I would probably say they were about average.
Sound: 7/10
The audio in this game is pretty good, but not the best.
Replayability: 8/10
This game is pretty good for replay with the medal system. Hardcore 007 players will find it fun to try to get all the Platinum Medals on the level.
Overall: 7/10
This game is definitely worth a rent, and possibly worth a buy. It is really good if you are farmiliar with the series and like the other games. It is nowhere close to GoldenEye, but a decent game overall.
