"What the hell is this?"

Wow, where do I start. I guess at the beginning...yeah that would be a good starting point. Drake of the 99 Dragons is about...well...Drake. A dude who is one of the 99 dragons. And the other 98 are dead or asleep or something. I can not figure it out. Anyway, I suppose this could be considered a cell shaded shooter...maybe. But I do not understand what Idol FX was doing. Wait, I can't even think of a game by Idol FX. And this is their first shot? Yay, 989 Studios may not be the worst developer ever if this keeps up! Anyway, I will try my hardest not to bash this game, but it is quite hard due to the fact everything was so badly put together and seemed so rushed. Anyway, read on.

Graphics: 1/10
The graphics on this game as I stated above are sort of cell shaded. And it is a third person shooter. The graphics on this game seem as though they started making the game in like 1998 for the Playstation and then forgot it, then started making it again and finished and put it on the Xbox. It looks sort of like the comic book that comes with the game (Yes, that is correct you get reading material with your game here!). Anyway, next part, nothing else to rant about here.

Gameplay: 1/10
The gameplay here is just bad. Everything is bad here. The controls are bad, the concept is bad, just bad. Horrible. I can explain why I am ranting about this by just pointing at the tutorial. How does the game teach you how to play? By running around like a chicken with its head cut off and shooting randomly hoping you hit something and injure it. That is it. Then the control on the game is so bad. You keep trying to move around with the sluggish controls and you keep tapping the button that makes time slow down. So now you have to try to control a sluggish character in slow motion. Oh the joy.

Rent or Buy:
Do not do either. Just run from this game. It is just bad, there are no good points in this game where I can say ''Well the bad parts may be offset if you like doing ____''. No, there are none. This game is like Max Payne meets XIII. Which sounds like it should be good. But then take out all the things that made both of those games good, and add a sub par story line and a corny Neo knock off and you have Drake of the 99 Dragons.

My Final Word:
Drake of the 99 Dragons is a bad game. I hate giving it such a bad score and bashing it so much, but it just cannot be done any other way. The game has no good points for me to talk about. So, that is it. Do not get this game. If your friend gives it to you, drop it and run from your friend like they are the plague.
