"Best racing game on X-Box yet."

Introduction:

Racing Evoluzione is game by Atari, in this game you build your own car and start up your own company. There are three options you can choose from in this game, first there is the Dream mode, in this mode you’ll play through the story of the game, second is Arcade mode, here you can choose from various of cars and tracks that you’ve unlocked in the Dream mode, and the last one is Options, here you ca change your game, sound and controller settings. In this review I’ll take you through the story, gameplay, graphics and sound, life span and my final recommendation.

Story: 8/10

When you start the Dream mode, there is a small intro where you’ll see an old run down garage, here however is where your career starts. Inside you’ll meet your engineer, he lets you choose a car from the drawing board and gets to work, you also have to choose a name for your company. Six months later you car is ready and you’re ready to compete in some races. By winning races you’ll get refund points, with enough refund points you can build a car, you also have to sell your cars, you do this by winning races and letting people see your car is the one to go for. When enough races are won your company building will expand from a dusty garage into a professional company building with production buildings and race tracks. Throughout the game you’ll get some challenges, these challenges can be from the police, companies, or even for commercials. In the challenges you have to win a race against three other competitors. If you win the challenges sales and research funds will go up so that you can build more cars. When you’ve won enough races your car will be modified into a race monster. There are four stages you can develop a car, Roadster, Sport car, Super car and Dream car.

Gameplay: 10/10

The gameplay in this game is superb, the cars act exactly as is shown in the statistics. When you see that your car is good for mountain tracks, you’ll definetely notice that you’re better of with that car than with the other. You can race on four different environments, city, speedway, racetrack and mountains. And we all know how annoying it is when you makes a 180 and the whole group races you by don’t worry, instead of getting a bigger lead, its almost as though the computer is waiting for you to rejoin the group. You can see this as a good or bad point, I didn’t mind though.

Graphics/Sound: 9/10

The graphics in this a game are just as all the racegames are these days, what is cool about the graphics is that the cars take damage when you ram your opponent or when fly out of a turn, there are enough racegames where this doesn’t happen. And as for the sound, when you’re getting tired of the in-game music you can just put on some music that you stored on your X-Box and play that.

Life span: 6/10

Its fun while it lasts, but I wouldn’t want to play the game all over again to see the same things happen again. There are no multiple endings in this game and you can’t unlock things that you can only unlock with a second game. But this game offers alot of races, so you’ll enjoy this game for quite some time anyway.

Final recommendation:

Even though I didn’t buy this until the price dropped I still would recommend a racegame fan to buy this game, but if you’re not sure then just rent it and see what you think of it.
