Goblin Commander: Unleash the Horde

"Amazing console RTS!"

Goblin Commander is one of the rare Real time strategy games(RTS) to hit a console in a LONG time,maybe the first in 5 years. I love RTS games that usually bode on the PC, so when I saw this game being advertised as a console game, I immediatley went out and bought it at my local gaming store.I payed $35 for it which is a very good price. I very much recommend this game to all RTS fans.

Gameplay-10/10
The developers made an amazing transfer for a RTS to a console system. The game has no lag time,and usually runs very smoothly. This game has great mechanics and is easy to pic up on. Your essentials are basically souls and gold. You can use the basic turrets,and unit based stategies of any other great RTS. You have five different goblin clans in this game. There are also many different species within each horde. This game has great potential...

Graphics-7/10
It has the average RTS graphics, comparable to many PC RTS game. The frame rate runs very smoothly and does not usually interfere with gameplay. All of the different species and hordes have quite detailed assets.

Sound-5/10
This game has the realistic swords swishes,explosions,grunts etc of most RTS games.The sound is comparable to many other RTS games on PC. It is quiet worthy though.

Multiplayer compatibility-7/10
The lack of ''bots''(computer AI) in multiplayer and the lack of online play hurt it. Split screen mode will satisfy some though.All of the games maps are very bright and alive with a wonderful lay out that helps strategic play. It isn`t much of a worry about screen watchers for it doesn't help with split screen which you will get used to.

Story-8/10
Taking place in the world of Ogriss,the goblin master has died mysteriously and it is up to you to unite the goblin clans of Ogriss. But unfortunate for you the other hordes have different views? Can you unite them? There are five different clans for you to conquer.

Overall presentation-8/10
There are things such as replay value and lack of online play that handicap this game but with such an amazing switch from a PC to a Console,this is an amazing RTS game.

Rent or Buy?
Rent it first and try it if you are thinking of buying it or are just interested.
Buy it if you are an old time fan of similar Real Time Strategy Games, for it is much more than worth it.
