Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This at Home
Review by Soldier117
""This is a piece of plastic, not a game.""
This game is really, really, extremely, terrible. I will try and give a fair review to those who are interested, but I fair worn that this game is NOT worth ANY of your time. This game is not even a ''Wrestling'' game. I would consider it a mash random buttons too throw punches and random items.
The Ai sucks, for it is repetitive, and they throw WAY too much crap which always seems to hit you, no matter where you are. Now onto my review...
Graphics: 5
This game ain't nothing special as far as graphics go. It is no were near on par with other Xbox games. The game's ''arenas'' look have decent but are nothing you would call special. I do like the object and character damage system.
Sound: 8
The music is mostly just wannabe punk-rock stuff and a little really bad rap, but if that's your thing thing all for you. In game sounds are reasonable enough, with bones breaking and screams, grunts etc. This game does have custom sound track options which is a major bonus in any game in my eyes. Therefore you don't have to listen to the games crappy soundtrack.
Gameplay: 2
Gameplay barely deserves a two. Characters never give you a real response, I just mashed buttons and hoped something, if anything, would happen. You can't attack enemies hardly standing, and you can only drag them around while they are on the ground. Reversals are also terrible and difficult in this game. The computer AI is dumber than a rotten log, mainly due to the fact that they will constantly throw items that act as homing missiles. Many weapons are destructible also, as are the characters.
Fun:1
Not fun. NO. It just isn't fun in any way possible, at all, with the exception of hitting people with burning objects.
CAW is very limited and useless, like much else in this game
If anything is a real problem, it is the moves. If your going to have a CAW you need to have a pre-view on your CAW screen. You can preview moves in the options menu, which is a terrible pain in the butt for you must leave CAW to get to the options menu. Many generic wrestling moves have terrible ignorant names that wrestling fans won't realize what the moves actually are without watching 95% of them in the options menu.
My conclusion(warning):
This is a warning more than a review. Rent it if you still have some strange desire to play it. I unfortunately bought it used from EB. Do not buy this game. Ever. I feel I have done my part to inform you of just how bad this game is.
