"Manhunt, Gore for the Whole Family, well maybe not, dood!!!"

Manhunt, Rockstar's latest concoction. It is based upon a rape/snuff film style, or at least along the lines. But, before I get started I must state my opinion about the PS2 and the Xbox versions. The PS2 version seemed lacking in real difficulty, to me. It also seemed to lack in graphics and control, again, in my opinion. Now, the Xbox version, yes, seemed a tad bit buggier, but the controls were very smooth and crisp, IMO. The graphics also bring out the darkness and evil of the game more than the PS2. Okay, now that I have stated that, let us get on with the review of the dreaded M-17 rated MANHUNT.

Graphics 9/10:
Now, the graphics are very clean and bring out many textures, but hey, what do you expect from Rockstar? The blood can look pretty phony at times, and so do the executions. When the camera mode switches, sometimes the character models collide and it looks very stoopid. The levels are very well done, and they are always different, anywhere from Piggsy's lair, to the outside cemetery. The characters are very detailed. Every gang has their, let's just call it their thing!!! All in all, the graphics are one of the best on the market, but are far from the best.

Sound 10/10:
Now it's time for one of the high points in any game, Sound. There has to be good sound for a game to succeed, usually. Like GTA III and Vice City, the graphics are good, but the sound is even better, well maybe not GTA III. Anyway, the sound is very, very, very well done. The music is very good, and suits the mood. The voice acting is done so well, like a true game should be. You can hear the Director's cold, dark voice, as well as the gang member's evil, and vile darkness as they curse and scream at you. It almost sometimes scares me that the sound of the executions sounds so real, like meat ripping or being torn apart and beaten. The weapons also sound like the true things. All in all, the sound is so far the best on the market, IMO.

Story 10/10:
The story is unlike any other in a game, but hey, again what do you expect from Rockstar?! You are James Earl Cash, on death row for a convicted murder. It is your death date, by lethal injection, but wait!!! You wake up in a room, alive with a man talking to you through an intercom, he tells you that to survive you must kill, enter blood, gore, and violence!!! All in all, I was very surprised by the single player mode, very deep. But this is one of the best storylines in a game we've ever had, and for the fiftieth time, that's my opinion.

Overall 9/10:
Yes I know, there are more 10 our of 10's than 9 out of 10's but my overall view of the game is 9/10. You might be asking, "What about replay value, Corrosion," well that's simple, there is plenty. You can unlock many cheats and extras and there are two difficulties so have fun!!!

The game can either be rented or bought, but I suggest a rent first, since not everyone will like this game. If you hate it, please don't use the boards to tell us, because that's not what they are for, if you like it, buy it

Epilouge: Thanks for reading my review I hope you found it very helpful in choosing whether to try it. And thanks for taking the time to hear my opinions, later doods!!!
