"This Game Should Be More Popular Than it is."

This is easily one of the most unique and original FPS around. It's under rated. If you're interested in it though, go out and buy it because they have already cut the price down to $19.99.

Story:

The story here is complicated. It's a sci-fi one. At first I thought I was playing a game based on the Matrix. (You'll see what I mean if you play it) It strays away from all of that though eventually. Your some guy, Derrick, who wakes up with amnesia. After being helped out by doctors (a training level), all hell breaks loose. The story slowly unfolds as you progress through the game. You find out that you have special powers that allow you to fight hand to hand with some super soldiers that no one else can kill. There's not a huge variety of weapons in the game. That's because most of it is based on hand to hand combat. Yep, a FPS with hand to hand combat. You learn different combos and powers though so it doesn't get boring. There are still parts though where your required to use guns. The story is really good and has depth. You'll really want to keep playing to find out what exactly is going on.

Graphics/Sound:

The graphics are great. The character models are very detailed and so is pretty much everything else. To re-gain health, you can drink soda or eat rations and hamburgers. What's so cool about this is when you pick up a ration or hamburger, you see Derrick put it right up to the screen and munch on it. When he pulls it away, some of it's gone. I just thought that was just some really great detail they put into the game. All of the enemies look really cool too. They're really different.

The sound; usually I don't have much to say about it except "It was good blah blah blah ". In this game though, it just seems extra better. All of the sound effects are extremely realistic. From gun firing to munching on hamburgers. This game might have the most realistic sounds I've ever heard in a game; only to be rivaled with Rainbow Six 3 and Chronicles of Riddick.

Controls:

The controls are fairly simple to use. It might take a few minutes to get used to picking up items and either using them or throwing them away though. The hand to hand combat combos are really easy to master too. One small problem though is if your too slow to attack an enemy first (with hand to hand), they could knock you down. And with the first person view, it makes it very difficult to recover without getting knocked back down until you die. You might even get dizzy sometimes if you're being thrown around. Most games like this probably would have been in the third person. Still, the first person mode has more advantages than disadvantages. This game can get really difficult at times, but I guess it's better than being too easy. Jumping and crawling is easy to do.

Overall:

If you can find it for the price I mentioned above, you should try it out. Even if it isn't that price. You might want to rent it first though. I'm not sure if this game is for everyone. I think it's one of those either you love it or hate type of games. I love it.
