True Crime: Streets of LA

Review by jackprose007

"Finally a game as good as Grand Theft Auto"

First of all I would like to say this is one of my all time favorite games. I got this game as soon as I could and had a great time. Also I would like to say if you are looking for a difficult game then you should keep looking. NOTE this game has an M rating so If you are not 17 or your parents do not let you play M games reading this has little use to you.

Graphics/Sound 8/10
The graphics are good and it does look very real but some other games have much better graphics than this. For example in this game if you look at the care windows you can see a reflection. This is good but in other games like Crimson Skies every detail is there. The sound in this game is one of the best parts the sound when playing are good but the best part of the sound is the voice-overs. The bad part of the sound is sometimes the main character says stupid stuff that will annoy you.

Gameplay 10/10
This is the games best part. It is very close to GTA but it has small differences that make it better. For example you can do things such as shoot out car tires or hat it matter where you shoot someone or even how your choices affect the story. Another great thing is how many types of gameplay there are. There are driving levels in which you drive to a certian place, fighting levels where you use hand to hand combat for fighting or gun levels in which you gun down dozens of enemys. The one bad thing is it had far less cars and guns than GTA, though it is more realistic. Bottom line, GREAT GAMEPLAY!

Controlls 10/10
The contorlls in this game are very well done. The are very responsive and never feel complicated or hard to use.

Story 9/10
I will not spoil the story but what I can say is that you play as a Nick Kang and who startes out trying to cleanup the streets of L.A. and ends up fighting the Russian Mophia.

Leangth/Replayabilty9/10
The game itself is quite short but has and amazing replayability. You can go around and arrest people or try to win the game as a good or bad cop. Also you can try to get upgrades, do alternate missions. unlock the secret character,j or get the three endings.

Overall 10/10
This is a very fun game that I would recomend you get. It will provide you with a great time. With three types of gameplay on one disc this is not a game to pass up. This is also a great game if you are at all in to Grand Theft Auto 3 or Vice City you should buy this game.

Pros:
Good sound
Multipale endings
Much like GTA
Upgarades
Secret character
More Realistic than GTA
3 different types of gameplay

Cons:
Not enough cars
Graphics could be better
Gameplay could be a bit deeper
Very limited weaponry

BUY, RENT OR IGNORE
Buy,Buy,Buy!!! This is a great game that you will spend over 50 hours playing to unlock everything and keep solving crimes.
