Spider-Man 2
Review by RPGs R Awesome
"Spider-Man or no Spider-Man, this game is a masterpiece!"
So, I was at my local game store and I heard two ladies saying that they just got in Spider-Man 2. I was excited because I've been wanting to buy it for such a long time. I mean, it's the non-linear style of Grand Theft Auto in a Spider-Man game. And that's a very good thing, making the game fun, open-ended, supplying much collectibles and providing many different gameplay options.
By the end, you'll be wondering why you shouldn't have bought this game. Everyone deserves to own Spider-Man 2 because it can appeal to many different gamers. Action gamers, Adventure gamers and even gamers that like platformers can enjoy it! Nothing quite beats swinging through New York City 300 feet above ground. Now, let's look at Spider-Man 2 in detail!
Graphics-9 out of 10
The worst part of the game is the graphics. Somethings seem to not quite have as much detail as some other games. Also, they lack some of the polish that people might expect from an Xbox. But, there are so many people roaming the streets, there are a ton of skyscrapers that you can swing by and there are no invisible walls on a patio or something like that, for example. The graphics get the job done.
Controls-9 out of 10
The controls work well, but there was a few times where I found myself falling off of the top of buildings and swing where i didn't want to go. Again, they aren't perfect, but are still great and work for the game.
Gameplay-10 out of 10
There's a ton to do in Spider-Man 2! You can fight random crimes that occur all over the city, you can complete the main mission, you can collect the many collectables or make something better in your stats or you can just explore, which is really fun to do. There is such a large variety in the gameplay types and there is always something to do. Missions can very from taking pictures to delivering pizzas. The gameplay is definitely the best part of the game!
Story-10 out of 10
The game follows the story of Spider-Man 2 the movie. It continues the story from the first and will keep you wondering what will happen next. Spider-Man 3 the game will be awesome, if it follows this one and how much better it got by adding non-linear elements.
Playtime/Difficulty-8 out of 10
You should be able to beat this game with only a tiny bit of trouble and within about 10 hours or so. By the way, there is a ton of replayability to factor in....
Replayability-10 out of 10
Some of the best replayability I've ever seen! After you beat the game, you can explore, solve the random crimes and find the collectibles, like Skyscraper Tokens, Hideout Tokens, Help Spots and complete all of the Challenge and Mega Challenges. There is a ton to do after the game is over!
So, this is what I rated everything:
Graphics-9
Controls-9
Gameplay-10
Story-10
Playtime/Difficulty-8
Replayability-10
The Final Word-Buy
This is a great game that deserves to be played by everyone! Buy it now! I am 95% sure you will like it. If you absolutely hate platformers, action games and adventure games, rent it first, but for everyone else, buy!
