Spider-Man 2
Review by jfhkd
"Want to be Spider-Man, well here's your game"
Introduction
The game starts off with you in a tutorial voiced by Bruce Cambell. It centers around Peter's conflict with Spider-Man. I personally think the main villain is not Doc Ock, but yourself. Oh and if you haven't seen the movie yet and don't want spoilers, STOP READING NOW. If you have seen the movie or want to know the plot kindly keep on reading.
Graphics 8/10: WOW Treyarch and Activision really worked hard on the graphics in Spider-Man 2. It gets a little worse as you get higher, but you will be focusing more on the swinging. My only complaint is that the pedestrians look awful when you talk to them.
Sound:10/10: All I can say is that it's perfect. No complaints here. Everything sounds great, from the calls of pedestrians, to helicopters flying around. They used the actors for Spider-Man, Doc Ock, Mary Jane, and a lot more.
Gameplay 9/10: It is great, fighting up thugs, racing to class, delivering pizzas, swinging around town, going through an obstacle course, and of course, playing arcade games. It makes you feel that you really are Spider-Man.
Combat 8/10: It is good overall, but I have some complaints in the moves. They make me feel like I am playing the Lord of The Rings. I just don't like the button combos and their placements. It feels like a straight port from the PS2.
Some moves are hard to pull off, but other than that, it's great.
Replay Value 10/10 (2/10 if you only want to play the story)
There are tons of things to collect, much like GTA's hidden packages. The collectibles range from tokens to hint markers. It could take 10 hours for just the story, or 30 hours to get 100%, or even longer if you like the web-slinging.
Rent or Buy: Rent only if you just want the story, otherwise buy it and play it until Halo 2 comes out.
Overall:9/10 It has great graphics, great sound, great replay value, great combat, and great gameplay. A must have for Spider-Man fans.
