"Great Game with a Sci-Fi/Military Twist"
You are Derrick Cole. You awake from a coma and from the very beginning, things just start to go weird once you meet that girl.
Gameplay(9/10)- The gameplay was great. You can use weapons and throughout the whole game you slowly develop your powers back. You can use a couple different skills but you don't start with them all. It sometimes gets a bit tricky trying to target with weapons because you are usually outnumbered in every fight. When you fight the T'lan, it can be complicated unless Alex is there to help. As you might have heard, the whole game is first person prospective. You will NEVER leave Derrick's field of vision. From driving a jeep, to shoot a weapon, to puking into the toilet, to drinking some juice, and to manning a machine gun, you are in Derrick's view. There is no third person view.
Sounds(9/10)- The sounds are fantastic. Music for the game was pretty good, although you are so stuck into the game you usually can't hear it because you are concentrating. When something odd happens you can hear some freaky music.
Graphics(10/10)- The Graphics are simply stunning. You can see reflections on water, brightness from the sun, and the clouds look real. The grass looks pretty well done as well, and rocks look fine. Faces and character models were done well on this game, everyone is unique and the main character's voices were acted out well.
Storyline(9/10)- The storyline is sci-fi/military and is very hard to understand. You wake up from a coma and.. well I won't spoil it. But throughout the game you recover your powers as you try to save the world from Nexus, who spends his time making earthquakes. You also get to meet the chick Alex, Dr. Glen Ogawa, a man who is a soldier who's name I can't recall, and some other people. Throughout the game when things happen, you will be wondering "What....?" The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat.
Replay- Should you replay? If you don't mind doing everything exactly the same way the first time you played, it'll be fun to play again. If you get bored of it, put it on the shelf and try it again in a month or two on a higher difficulty. With this game, difficulty is greatly increased each time. Even on Normal it is challenging at certain parts of the game.
Rent or Buy? Buy. If you don't like first person and would rather see everything around you, you should rent. But if you like First Person Perspective and like the theme, it'd be a good game to go in any collection.
Overall(10/10)- Breakdown is a good game to have and play. Your first time through will leave you wondering what is up and you may not catch some things in the storyline. This left me empty so I played it again 2 days later and found out some more. Breakdown is a great game and you should at least try it if you don't think you will like it.. you may.
