"In all honesty, I don't think it's really that bad"

You most likely have never heard of this game at all. Created by Genki, the minds behind numerous racing games and a few other fighting games, Kabuki Warriors has had nothing good said about, besides a few other people who actually think the game is neat, such as myself. With a simple combat system and a addictive play style, Kabuki Warriors, may be worth a pick up, for about 10 bucks, of course

Graphics

They're ok. Nothing, such as, amazing. This game, however, sadly fails in alot of aspects. You will see three characters in the game, who look exactly the same as another character. With nothing different about them. Most characters move well, although it is weird seeing a girl, or a guy in all white, fly across a stage without any sort of wiring. Hell, sometimes, an opening animation has your character dancing in a box, while other times, they're dancing across the stage, or Samurai Walking up to it. And in fight animations are what I would call mind blowing. When a character runs up a wall, it seems kinda......odd. Also, each and every stage looks almost the same. The only difference is the background.

4/10

Animtations and lack of character models.

Sound

The music is traditional Japanese music, filled with Chinese Fiddels, electric drums and such. Fighting music is always the same. And character screams and speech is all japanese. The only problem, is when your selecting an option, you'll hear this annoying japanese samurai scream or whatever. It really is bothersome.

7/10

I don't mind the japanese music. But, that scream........

Gameplay

Fighting system is not deep. You have one attack button, a jump button, a gaurd button, a roll button, and a taunt and special button, with the triggers making your character run. You can run up walls, roll under your enemies, or use the attack button with the directional button to use special moves. Although most people don't like this, I think it's a nice path, taken away from other fighting games. It's simple, and easy to controll, and I like it.

The game has a time attack mode, VS mode, and Tour Mode. In Tour Mode, you go from city to city on a Japanese map, performing in stages. If you kill the other characters from the other team, bam, you get one of there characters in exchange with one of your own. VS mode has you going against a friend, choosing from the games small library of characters. Time attack has you fighting a string of enemies.

8/10

I find it addictive

Overall

8/10

Take note, I can't garuntee you'll like this game. It isn't very deep, and it lacks cool stages or moves. Replay value is low, so make sure you pick it up for about 10 bucks or less.
