Manhunt
Review by InSaNe948
"Scary as hell"
This game is very seriously sick. I suggest you read the following review before buying the game. When I first got manhunt I wasnt sure what it was. A friend told me to play it at midnight in my house, and I went ahead to play. What I found was disturbing, the most disturbing game ever IMO.
Story: You are james earl cash. You were sent to be executed, but the executioner saved you. In return he asks that you kill people while he records every hunter;s death. You are set loose on the streets, trying to hunt down and kill sick people ranging from white supremacists to sadomasochist mentals. Sounds fun? Read more.
Gameplay: The gameplay is awfully repetitive. You kill, kill, and kill some more people in different ways with different weapons. This is fun for about a week, before it totally loses all replayability. You can kill people in 3 different ways with a weapon. If you manage to sneak behind a hunter, you can perform an execution. An execution is hwen the screen switches to a camera, and you get to watch yourself kill the hunter.
Graphics: Graphics are good for the most part, brains splatter on the wall and stick on the wall, while sometimes blood is a flourescent red which is kind of unrealistic. Sometimes blood appears as squares, but not often. Character models are good as well as textures.
Sound: the voice acting is good, you can hear the hunters scream for mercy when they fall to the ground. Also, they picked a great voice for the director. The weapons definitely sound realistic, as if you were really shoving a crowbar down someones skull.
Conclusion: Rent this game first. I bought it because its really fun to show to friends. Unfortunately this should go on the bottom of your to get game list. Its good points such as good sound, story, and graphics are bogged down by the lack of variety and repetitiveness. Other than that this game will make you grin like a madman.
