Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x
Review by BettleBoy
"A fun game that last's maybe 15-20 minutes"
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x is a fun game to start off with.... for about fifteen minutes. Then the game got basically boring. All you do in this game is skate around and try to get letters, combos, and high scores. I didn't think this game was that good. This is why I think so.
Gameplay: 6/10
Well to start off with, you're basically a skateboarder who goes around doing tricks in different levels. That's it. You do nothing else. I played this game for about fifteen minutes and turned it off. Here's the first level. You start off in the first level, the Hanger, and you skate around collecting S-K-A-T-E letters and getting high scores. After you get a certain amount of money, you move on to the next level, and do the same thing, and then the next level, and then the same thing and so on. It gets very boring. But there are some plus sides to this game and here they are. The skateboards they allow you to buy is a very big collection. There is a lot of variety, so if you don't like the skateboard your using, you can switch to another one tht you buy from the skate shop. Another thing that is nice about the gameplay, the create a skater. When you create a skater, you can choose from a lot of different shirt styles, hats, pants, and shoes. That got a plus. The last thing is the create a park. The stuff you can use to create a park is crazy! They have a lot of nice half pipes, rails, trees, and other things. So the gameplay was okay, not horrible, but not outstanding.
Sound: 6/10
The sound was okay. There was it's up and downs, but for the most part, the sound was okay. When you would Ollie off your skateboard you would hear the sound of the skateboard hitting the ground. But the sound sometimes came in too late and made the game sound bad. Like when a helicopter takes off, the sound would come in about two seconds later.
Controls: 7/10
The controls of this game were very basic. The controls were quite simple to use, so this was not a bad part of the game. But at some points of the controls they would tell you to do tricks in which the buttons were spread out, but other than that, this game had okay controls.
Buy Or Rent?
Rent. This Game is an okay game to rent for about a week to try it out, then return it, and if you like it, buy it.
