Def Jam: Fight for NY

"Best Fighting Game of ALL Time? HELL yes."

Let me start out by saying that I was scepticle at first of getting this game. I mean, I never really played the first one, and this one just got mostly 8's for it's reviews. Fortunately my best friend picked up this game today and I got to play it. This is where my review begins.

Graphics: 10/10
The graphics are nothing short of incredible. Seriously, there's not much more to write on the subject. The graphics are stunningly mind blowingly incredibly awesome. It's that simple.

Sound: 10/10
Everything from the voice acting of rappers to the music played, the audio is good. There are no extremely stupid and/or obvious voice acting mistakes, and the music runs along smoothly. The sound of DJ:FFNY is definately very well done.

Gameplay: 10/10
As if the game wasn't good enough, the nice designers at EA put in some of the best gameplay in a game ever. At first, it was fun to pummel people with the same three or so buttons, but the more you evolve your character and the more you begin to understand how the game operates, the more the game shines. Oh, and this game SHINES, SHINES like the SUN. Incredible.

Story: 10/10
Now, normally people would think "Who the hell cares about a story in a fighting game... and how good could it be, anyways?" Well the answers simple. This is the best storyline in a fighter. It may not be the most original plot, but in terms of how short and un-well done EA could've made the story, it was done extremely well. It's not short, either... most fighting games can be beat within around 2-3 hours... let me say I got well over triple that in the story alone.

Overall: 10/10
If I could give it a higher score than 10, I would. This game truly is a work of art in the fighting genre. Whether you like rap and rappers or not, you definately should check this game out. It's extremely good from A-Z. It's the best fighting game ever, period.
