Guilty Gear X2 #Reload
Review by InitialXero
"Got this game recently, and it's very good."
Guilty Gears X2 #Reload, which I will refer to as GGX2#R, is a very addictive game. A friend of mine was out, and he bought me this game for a present. I thought it would be some boring fighting game that was possibly overrated and unheard of. I was sadly mistaken, and most definitely off course with my judgments.
GGX2#R piqued my interest after I immediately began to play with it's intense hard rock music choice. I myself like rock music, but the heavy guitars and drums create an audible epiphany that's hard not to enjoy. It gets your adrenaline rushing and it keeps the flow going throughout the many fights in the game. I believe I can speak for most when I say that the music is most definitely a plus in the game. Not only does the music change based on characters and stages, but you can also enjoy the music in the sound test option under the options menu ensuring that you can hear your favorite characters music over and over again.
Another plus in this game is the many game modes and features in offers. Not only can you play through a story mode, but there is a survival mode, an arcade mode, multi-player, training etc. The list goes far beyond what I've mentioned here. I'm not usually a fan of in-home 2-D fighters, because I'm more accustomed to arcade 2-D fighting and still I thought it was fun fighting the computer on hard mode. The different modes and such in the game offer many things to do besides fight your best friend who sucks at the game, so you'll never get bored.
GGX2#R has a lot of playability. You can not only play the many modes of the game, but in those modes you can unlock new characters like Justice or Kliff. It's fun playing a game you enjoy, and even better when you're fighting for something. No pun intended. You can play the story mode over and over again to unlock characters and even unlock different styles for characters. Styles like EX mode or SP. Despite the length it may take to unlock these things, you'll be having fun along the way, honing your skills and mastering that one overdrive you can never seem to get right when you're about to lose.
The game is fairly cheap, and fairly easy to play and master, however it takes time. You also have to have ease in the way you play. So, using a large Xbox controller doesn't necessarily benefit you. Unless you have gargantuan hands or something of the sort. I'd recommend playing with an S-controller so that you can reach buttons easier, and maximize your joy with the game.
Finally, for a person like me who doesn't buy 2-D fighters for in-home systems, I'd give this game an nine out of a possible ten. The game is fun, and interesting and will guarantee you hours of fun regardless of how much you might suck at it. Though time consuming, this game is a definite winner. I'd advise picking it up if you haven't already. My only advice to you is to get real good at it. You might think you're good, then someone might come along and own you with one-hand tied behind their back and a perfect. I know, trust me.
^_~ Play hard.
