Batman: Dark Tomorrow
Review by wolverinefan
"Has there ever been a good Batman game?"
Story
As Batman you must stop a gang war from destroying Gotham and plus you need to save the city. It's the classic Batman story and this game stick close to the comics while most of the other Batman games didn't. I give story a 7/10
Control
It's easy to jump, punch and kick. Switching weapons is sinmple but nothing else is! You 'walk' around as if you're on speed and the control kinda jitters about. The camera can't be moved and is stuck in one horrible position per scene. Using the grapple hook is a huge pain in the butt as you can swing so you must jump off a building, use grapple, raise all the way up, jump, use grapple and repeat until you're on the next rooftop. I give control a 5/10
Voice Acting, Sound Effects and Music
The voices acting is so-so, I didn;t reconize any of the voice actors and the voices don't match anything from the movie or the cartoon but I guess that was the point. The sound effects are a mixed bag. Gun fire sounds good, nothing else does. The music is okay but not really your normal Batman music. I give voice acting, sound effects and music a 7/10
Gameplay
All they had to do was stick with the gameplay from Batman Vengence but no, instead it follows the gameplay of Resident Evil. First of all, all scenes are stuck ala Resident Evil so you can move the camera or anything. This is a pain as you're given many horrible camera angles. The enemies are about as smart as rocks and all carry guns but all you get are your fists and feet and a few gadgets. Fighting is nothing but button mashing and you can handcuff the enemies so they don't get back up. The areas look under-detailed as do most of the graphics in the game. The fact that roof jumping is tedious doesn't help matters as the first part of the game is a bunch of roof jumping with no battles. Seriously, who decided to make this more of a stealth game than an action game? The fighting is too slow and there isn't a whole lot of fighting. The levels are poorly designed and your gadgets aren't used very much. I give gameplay a 3/10
Replay Value
There are hidden Cd's in the game that have stuff you can view which I guess adds a little to the replay value but the game isn't exactly long and there isn't any secrets that I know of. I give replay value a 1/10
Final Score
I give Batman: Dark Tomorrow a 3/10
