Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition
Review by Xenogears Id
"Wake up. It's midnight. Time to race."
Both Midnight Club games broke new ground in the racing genre. Now Rockstar decided to partner up with DUB magazine & now they didn't just break new ground, they rebuilt the damn thing with marble blocks & polished it!
Graphics: 9/10. Just like in Midnight Club 2 the graphics haven't really improved that much. They are still very sharp, & the vehicle damage is fantastic. The ony problem is that when it rains or snows the game tends to slow down, but only when all the other racers are near you & you're trying to do a burnout. Once you got speed, as well as everyone else, the game picks up again.
Gameplay: 10/10. The controls are once again beautifully done and easy to learn. The car handling is fantastic but it does differ from car to car. The new elements are simply sweet. Now they added 3 new tricks. You can slow your car down to maneuver through cars or tight corners, become a damn tank & just push everyone to hell with out losing speed, & making everyone scatter out of our path like that scene in Bruce Almighty. It's ashame that you can only race in America though. I, as well as many other, enjoyed racing in Europe & Japan. But what are you gonna do. The 3 cities they did pick, San Diego, Atlanta, & Detroit are still great cities to race in though.
Characters: 8/10. The biggest let down in this game is that the other racers don't have personalities & don't talk smack to you while racing like they did in Midnight Club 2. They don't say a damn thing really. But you do get a chance to meet 3 lovable mechanics that think you can't race worth crap.
Music: 10/10. The music this time gives something to everyone. You have your techno, your rap, your rock, your bass & drums. Good music. If you have an Xbox you can load your own music so that's a plus right there.
Replay Value: 10/10. It just gets addicting. Once you start you can't stop. It's not only about racing though. You can also have fun customizing the cars.
Overall Rating: 10/10. It's a great freakin game. A lot of new elements. Some good, like 2 bad. Get the game. If you loved the first two then this won't disappoint. If you love the Need for Speed Underground series, get this game.
Rockstar you never cease to amaze me.
