Midway Arcade Treasures 2
Review by dante219
"A nice collection but regular gamers won't find it great."
I was thrilled to buy this game. Mostly for Mortal Kombat. I saw it had Gauntlet and Rampage and it was only $20. I never played Mortal Kombat before and I was eager to try it out.
My biggest complaint is some of these games are really dull. I heard Gauntlet was one of the best multiplayer games ever but I was disappointed by it. It wasn't the graphics, it was just too boring. Narc is said to be a great arcade game. When I tried it, it didn't live up to its reputation. My biggest disappointment was Mortal Kombat. It was way too hard to start off. There was no menu to look at combos and you can't save. I enjoyed games like "Total Carnage" and the one where you chop logs but this game is mostl for nostalgia. If your over 18 then these games should bring you back some memories.
There's no improvements in graphics to keep the the "spirit" of the game. The graphics are pretty clean and framerate is smooth except in one game which I forgot the name of.
If your a parent and you enjoyed these games before, I recommend you only buy it for the little kids that don't really understand a good game. These games were probably good for their time but when I played it, it was pretty cruddy. I only liked three out of the twenty games they packed into it.
I just want to mention some more of the games. I was surprised to see Spy Hunter wasn't really that fun. It was kinda like how the sequel of the remake was. Hard Driving was pretty fun to look at but the car is out of control. The graphics are the best ones on the disc but the game is so uncontrollable its unplayable. Arch Rivals seemd ok but got very old. Wizard of Wor was
reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaallllll old and unfun. The games I had enjoyed were: Total Carnage, Timber, and Rampage.
