"Flatout.. flat out below average"

Flatout. The game that makes you chuck it out the window. The worst thing about it is the gameplay.
*shudder*

Graphics: 7/10
Now the graphics are the pretty good part in this game. Every thing looks how it should. And more. The shadowing effects are pretty, and generally, things look nice. But now the reason I gave it a 7. Sometimes they get in the way. For example, when your hood is up from damage, you can't see what is directly in front of you. Speaking of damage, the effects for that are great. But, they too get in the way.

Sound: 4/10
This games sound is appropriate for the game, being it a demo derby game, it has rock and the like. No customizable sound track, which is bad. Here's the thing. It gets annoying. Very annoying. So annoying that the driver decides to commit suicide. (see gameplay) So try muting it.

Gameplay: 2/10
Oh boy. Here's where Flatout falls flat on it's face. Now in the beginning, it's pretty fun. The only reason this category got a 2 was because the bonus games were so fun in the beginning. But, even they got repetitive. Now, in the races, they really, really, screwed up. Now, you can throw your driver out the windshield. But you should never do this is you want to win. Here's an example.
A fat kid says, "DOH BOY! THROWIN' DA DRIVA OUT IS GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN!"
5 seconds later..

"WHY AM I IN 8TH?"

Mmm hm. The supposed funnest part of the game PUTS YOU IN LAST! So you have to avoid having fun, which is just plain wrong. Plus this game has the worst catch up in the world. You could be cruising along, way in the lead, then WHAM! in to a tree and you're in 8th. Horrid. Maybe they'll fix it in the next one.

The final good part about the game. Great controls. left stick is left/right, a is handbrake, b is turbo, and so on. And you can change them. The only thing in here above an 8.

Overall:4/10
Rent it if you want to, but i recommend not even spending THAT money . Play it for free if your friend has it, but demand to only play the bonus games and STAY AWAY from the horrible crap that is racing in this game.
