"One step forward, three steps back"

As someone who played Tiger Woods 2005 to death, I can honestly say I love this francise. Every year the game just seems to get better and better.... Except this year. I was stoked to get this game, even after reading reviews in different game magazines. It received very good scores, one of the gripes was the putting system that was changed for this installment.

Now don't get me wrong, this is not a horrible game. I can get used to the putting system. The single player modes are decent as well. But I bought this game for 1 reason and 1 reason only....4 player online!!!!!!! After playing last year's disaterous multiplayer mode(2 players max, clunky and confusing interface(yes I'm spoiled, I've played halo 2) and just overall poor execution) I was genuinely excited about playing golf with my friends online. So yes, I did drop $60 on this game(up here in Canada) just for the joys of kicking but online. This is where the game seriously drops the ball. The interface is eerily similar to last year's version, save for the ability to challenge your friends from your friend's list....pretty cool. But after playing 5 or 6 times against my buddy....This game seriously tanks. Slowdown, Slowdown, Slowdown...it took us 2 hours to play a single 18 hole skins game...Unforgivable

I can live with the graphics that are never updated...Though they are by no means horrible, they're still impressive..Gameplay this game still kicks some serious butt...still the best golf game on the market, I can forgive them for taking the Tiger Vision out. I'm not sold yet on the shape stick, haven't really had much time to tinker with it. I would have loved it if they had given you the option of which kind of putting you wanted, I much prefer last year's, And the gamebreaker is kinda cool also. However all this matters not when it comes to the main reason I purchased it...online. If they can fix the slowdown, I'll be very happy to keep this game. If they can't I'll ebay this thing and go back to playing last year's version.
