Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Review by sabermaster1
"This is a great game with bad controls"
Graphics: 9/10
The graphics on the Xbox version of San Andreas are much better then any other system. You can see the people's faces and you can read all the signs. The guns are very detailed and the cars look like what there real counterparts. The houses are bland and never really jump at you. The night and day effort again are made great. The only problem is the weather when it rains it looks like crap, but I guess they wanted it to look like acid rain. The explosions of the cars are still good but nothing has changed. Most people are mad because they say the game looks like Vice City and GTA 3; people want the game to have a new look.
Sound: 10/10
The sound is great. A great thing about having the Xbox version is that you can have a custom soundtrack, so if you don't like what is playing pop in a cd of yours. The radio is still great like it has been in previous years. The shows are very funny and give you a good laugh. The sound effects in the game are very good, from the rocket launcher to the machine guns they sound like they do in real life. The cars sound great especially in 5.1 surround sound. The yelling from the people also is great. The sirens of the police and fire trucks are also great. The voice acting is great and has really well known actors and actress.
Game play: 10/10
The game play in GTA games has always been the do whatever you want attitude and it stays the same and adds more depth to it. First you have your own gang and recruit members to follow you where ever you go. They can do drive-bys for you now. There are also gangs territories, if you want to take a territory over you have to start a gang war and kill 20 to 30 people. They also added a new stat system so you can get stronger and faster, but if you don't do anything you will become fat. You also have to eat every once and a while to keep your energy up. You can buy clothes and get different haircuts and even a tattoo. You can go swimming and go under water for amount of time. The controls on the Xbox are difficult to work with but if you play with it enough you can still use it. You can now have a girlfriend. The game is long; it is about 40-55 hours long which will keep you busy for some time.
Replay: 10/10
The replay value on this game is very high because you can do anything you want at any time and have no consequences. The mini-mission is fun and you can do them over and over.
Overall: 9.7/10
This game is a definite buy for anyone that wants to have fun. If you're a GTA fan you should have it pre-ordered.
