The Sims Bustin' Out
Review by birby677
"Get it, NOW!!"
The Sims. Will Wright's famous game. Selling games left and right, the game is famous. The Sims 2, it sold at least a million games. The same should be the same for the sims bustin out, right?
Overview: This game takes the sims to another level, not as much as the sims 2 though. The game is really good. I've loved Will Wright's games, and this is no exception. The game is brilliant, not perfect, brilliant. Controlling people to do the things you do didn't sound like a good game on paper, but in practice, seeing those sims dance to the radio or getting rejected when you asked the one your sim likes to marry him is pure fun. As this game features you to move from house to house to complete goals, it's a diffrent take on the sims.
Graphics: 9.5
The graphics are better in this game is much better then in the sims. The 3D models is well done, but one motion, when your sim breaths on his/her nails then wipe their nails on their shirt, it made your sims look more fat and big, it's noticeable on the girls more. Other then that, the graphics are great, not Halo 2 great or Xbox 360 great, but it's good for all that objects and playability. in there. The houses look great and the objects are great. Just don't buy this game for the graphics.
Sound: 10
The sound of the toilet flushing, the baby crying, the knife cutting, the t.v, um, whatever it's doing, sounds so real. Will Wright and his sound crew somehow made those sounds we hear everyday into something that sounds extrodinary in the game. It sounds real, I can hear my sim screaming in terror at the sight of a fire burning his wife now. There is no music in the game unless you trigger an event (kissing, marrying, etc) or open the radio. The songs on the radio are in simlish, which is the laungage for sims. After hearing the hip-hop songs and rock songs from any sim game, I was never the same again.
Gameplay: 10
Telling your sim to take a shower or eat their food may not sound like fun, as this game isn't for everybody. Action gamers who want ot just shoot things or adventure gamers who want to find that ultra sword or get to the forbidden palace or whatever may not like this gajme. This game doesn't fit into one genre, it's simulation, toy, starategy, that stuff. As I am a sim person, I love the game, I can't live real life without playing and controlling my sims life. The rpg kind of thing here is the skills you posess, how good you cook, how strong you are, those kind of things, they need you to read a book or experiment or workout or whatever, just like real life. Whether you want that ultra sofa or that plasma screen tv, it's your choice, like real life. This is real life, in a game, and that is hard to do, but the Maxis group has done it again.
Content: 8
This kinda ticked me off, as most of the good objects to buy are locked, and to unlock it, you must play the bust out mode. And after you're done with the bust out mode, you have the free play mode to make new sims with no goals. There isn't any videos of behind the game, or even a demo of an upcoming Maxis game would be nice. Maxis wasn't always good with these things, but that's the price you pay to play the sims for 1000 hours.
Multiplayer:9.9
Unlike the pc sims, the console sims have 2player multiplayer. That's right, if you like this girl, give her a virtual kiss in the sims. In multiplayer, everything is still there, the sounds, the actions, the graphics, everything is the same like in the 1player mode. It's 2player heaven. 0.01 is taken out from the perfect 10 because the screen is split diagonally, the top left corner to the bottom right corner. It's odd at first, but it works for this kind of game.
Total (Not an average) 9
This review isn't enough. The game is larger then what I can put on this review. I tried my best, but this review only shows 25% of the game. I just got the bare neccicities. To fully understand the game, you must play it. And for a bonus, the game is about $20-$40 bucks, so it's a good deal. Buy this game if you want it. See ya later.
