America's Army: Rise of a Soldier
Review by shAdo_1253
"The first Army game produced by The Army....."
Introduction: Not very much people know about America's Army for PC, im one of them I didn't know about it until I watched a episode of G4's Arena. So now it comes to the X-Box. America's army is well an army game.
Graphics: 9.5/10
The graphics are tight! It felt like I hooked my controller up to my computer and played the computer version. The explosions and the gun sight look like the real thing it, they made it look how it would look if you was really looking into the thing. But I found that the mouths don't move when they talked.
Sound: 10/10
It sounds like a real fight. Gun shots come from every where and everyone is screaming around. All guns sound like they are suppose too. But I think there was no music or maybe there is because you just forget about the music and go in to the game.
Controls: 9/10
All controls are tight too. They all have one action for every button. But what I didn't like was the commands. I wish to see more than 4 actions like socom where it has maybe dozen commands.
Game play: 10/10
This game is a RPG style game where after they mission you get experience based on how you did in the mission. And you go up classes from private to first sergeant. But what I disliked about this was after your final rank, first sergeant, you stop getting experience and if you try to fill up all 8 things (leadership, honor, marksmanship, etc.) you can't you only can fill up 2 before it finishes giving you experience. You get a total of 7 classes and 1 through 3 training missions and 2-5 missions but the last class doesn't have any training missions which didn't matter I got tired of training. If you want to fire a gun you got to use the sight because they ain't got no cross hairs. But all guns are easy to sight. I personally think that the people that dislike violent games are going to go after this game because if you don't know how to aim a gun you well now after this game. But the grenades you will have a hard time learning because of the no line thing like the other 50 million army games. So I ended up throwing the grenade on the wall and blowing my self up. Out of all 7 classes you get 5 primary weapons and 2 secondary weapons not including you flash, flag and smoke grenade. And some times when you run your team gets stuck in some places so you either have to shoot him and all most kill him or restart to your checkpoint but it only happened twice to me. Oh yeah this game is only 1 player but if you have X-box live its multiplayer, I had to find that out the hard way. Im just giving you all a heads up.
Story: 9.5/10
You're a new member to the army force and you gain your way up your very first mission you learn that a gang of terrorist are planning something they don't tell you so through the mission you have to find the ACE OF SPADES and capture him. While getting your rank up and learning new weapons.
Weapons: 10/10
The weapons are only rifle, 203, auto-rifle, 2 different snipers and a customizable m4 and a shotgun or a pistol. And you only get to hold the rocket launcher once at the very very very end of the game.
Replay value: 5/10
There is little replay value which is only if you want to redo your mission you got a bronze or a silver on.
Rent it or buy it?
Rent it only on a 5 weekend day because them 30 out of 45 missions are hard then halo 2's legendary.
Only buy it if you got X-Box live because after the few times playing it. It will get boring.
Pros: realistic graphics
Good weapons you get to choice from.
Great style of play
Cons:
NO SPLIT SCREEN MULTIPLAYER!!!???
