"1 Step forward, but 2 LARGE steps back"

Not to say I am disappointed by Marvel Nemesis, but what the hell Marvel? Why put so much hype and publicity in the game, if it isn't going to be all that spectacular? I mean come on guys. You could have done better. I might be the only one who will proudly say I liked Nemesis, but I am still just so disappointed. Let's face it, the multiplayer fighting isn't anywhere as great as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and the Story, which is where this game is supposed to be great, is good, but just feels dragged on.

I liked the fighting layout of Nemesis, it gave the characters limitations and how strong they really were. Like the Thing, can lift huge semi trucks to hurl at people, Daredevil… can lift a mailbox. The game lets you play as a, well small selection of people. When I first heard of this game, I was like, yes huge battles between over 75 people. Instead I got like twenty Marvel characters, and some people I have never heard of.

But the combat system is really fun. Each character has their own abilities and powers, and each one has their own little “story” in story mode. Which I thought was cool, because it didn't center around just one hero, but on all of them. The bosses you will fight are hard. I am not going to candy coat it, they are hard, and will make you mad and scream to no end. Each one makes you scream and kick and throw things. But when you defeat them, you sure do feel happy.

The story is interesting. Well, an alien race, The “Imperfects” have come to Earth, looking to, well, conquer. Marvel Rise of the Imperfects, takes place in New York City. Several of the Earths greatest fighters are missing in action, or have been defeated in battle, such as Captain America, The Hulk, and sadly The Punisher. It starts as The Thing, fighting his way through New York's busiest bridge, which has been completely destroyed by the creatures. As you progress through the game, you will be able to fight as The Human Torch, Electra, Wolverine, and many more.

The characters sound cheesy, it put it out there. I mean, hearing Wolverine sound like a girly man is one thing, but hearing Spiderman curse? That's just sad. It wasn't even funny, it was a lame excuse to make him seem grown, which he isn't, and he should not be cursing like that. Use your Spidey sense man. But all of the characters sound really weird, and the music was just as bad. It was more of a rip off from the Marvel movies than anything.

But, the characters do look good, for the most part. Now, I don't really like the “darker” images of the characters. They all seemed really darkly shaded and not like they would in their own games, like Spider Man 2 or X Men Legends. All the characters seemed really mature and not like the comics at all. Which I didn't like. But hopefully in next games the will take what they have done in Imperfects, and just make it brighter and nicer, because I loved how they made the game this time, just not the colors.

Imperfects is just what the title says. This defiantly isn't the right game for Marvel, but some of the things they did were moving in the right step. Let's just hope the next Marvel game will feature a lot more people, and a lot less maturity. It's a fun rent if you want get into a game and beat it really quickly, but you better be like a zen monk or something, because you will lose your temper like you don't know.
