The Warriors

"The Best Movie to Game out there"
I would like to start out by saying this is how Movie to Games should be done. This game is perfect if you saw the movie and if you didn't watch the movie then play the game. I wish they made a bundle of the movie and game that would be the perfect bundle.O.K. now that it is out of the way lets introduce the game. Your a street gang in the 70s and in the movie the big leader of another gang gets killed and you got framed now you must make it home, but in the game it tells you how all the main warriors got together a complete back story and you still get to play the movie part. It is a beatem-up and it sticks to the feel of the film so you never get a gun and that is OK. There is not that much button mashing as I found in other games like this, but in this one I still did it sometimes.
Graphics:7/10 Will not the best part it looks like a Rockstars game, but what made it a lot better was the amount of stuff you can pick up not as much as Half life 2 still a lot. The people actually looked like who they were supposed to be and the atmosphere was amazing I felt like I owned that turf. The only problem I had was it was not as sandboxy as I wanted it more mission based and it looked like Rockstars made it (meaning graphics sucked for the most part).
Audio:9/10 OK the film is old like 80s I think, but the people sounded like the movie. I popped in my old VHS tape of it and was amazed at how it sounded. Everything is there from the movie the DJ, all The Actors (except the orphans leader he sounded different) and the CAN YOU DIG IT SUCKAAAAA (don't play with anyone under the age of 15 there are many great lines that they will say forever). All the main things sounded nice, but the back round people not so much like a weapons dealer always says "Hey ever thought about some protection" which condom popped into my head and some phrases get used too much. Other then that it ain't the best so I thought only fair a 9.
Gameplay:8/10 I liked it cause they have a solid fighting engine and the amount of weapons is great, but it is a beatem-up so it does get repetitive a little. The best thing is stealing radios (turn the stick to unscrew it), mugging people (move the stick to the vibration), resisting arrest (avoid the vibration) , Picking locks (line up 3 things in the cone), and Tagging (make a W with the stick) all have a mini game. Some get kind of old like the radio and mugging, but you need them. All the characters felt different like more power, health or they just were better at certain things although I didn't see a differences in tagging. The boss battles sucked they could have been a lot better it was usually he has a lot of life now kill him. Hiding in the dark was alittle too Manhunt (another of Rockstars games) for me were as long as they didn't see you go in the dark they didn't see you. Other then that not much I didn't like about the game had so much fun playing this game.
Replay:8/10 This is a weird one cause there is a lot, but not too much you would do. First of the BEST COOP EVER yeah I said it a buddy can pick up and play where ever he want by pressing start and when you are by each other your on one screen and when you separate you go to 2. At first it is kind of weird but you get use to it and as long as they don't just keep doing it you will be fine. Now the weird part they have rumble mode with 8 game modes and 365 characters and you can create your own gang of 9 (I might be a little off on the numbers). Good thing huh no I just didn't find myself having that much fun with it plus only 2 people can play and no need for so many people. What I wished that happen was no create a gang and only the gangs in the game (who wants to play as a civilian or the hot-dog man), but ONLINE or at least more humans can play cause you can destroy the computers. But it is what it is if only they had online I might be able to recommend Rumble mode, but I can't the computer is too easy and not enough humans can play to where it is fun.
Conclusion:9/10 I give it another point cause I loved the movie. So if you saw the movie it is a great movie to game, but if not just watch the movie then play it. Cause if you didn't see the movie I would say about a 6 or a 7 rating wise (a lot of the story and atmosphere disappear plus you don't get as much). So to sum it up if you have the movie on DVD buy the dam game, but if not rent the movie and rent the game (be warned there is a lot in this game though) and if you saw the movie and liked it you have to play this game.
