"Not bad at all"

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball: Review by FoolishGamer

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is rated M for Mature by ESRB because of the mature sexual themes, gambling and slight nudity. But the Dead or Alive (DOA) girls are back and better than ever in the first ever "Sports Fantasy Simulation". Developed by Team Ninja, the guys who brought you the million-selling Dead or Alive 3 fighting game. Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is sure to have your heart-racing with beautifully rendered graphics and action-packed gameplay. The extreme action is transported from the fighting ring of Dead or Alive 3 to the beach this time around with the girls throwing on their bikinis to go head-to-head in the most outrageous beach volleyball game you have ever seen! Now onto my review!

Story: 2/10
Featuring Dennis Rodman as the voice of Zack. With Lady Luck over his shoulder, Zack hit the jackpot at the casino and became an instant millionaire. Using some of his winnings, Zack purchased an island in the south seas and named it Zack Island. He then declared that he would host the 4th Dead or Alive tournament there. Although they felt it was a little suspicious, the contestants continued to gather on Zack Island. However, for some reason the only contestants invited were woman. After a while the girls find out that there is no tournament and get used to the idea of a vacation. The story line is very poor and not well put together and that's why I gave it a 2/10. But this game isn't about story anyway.

Gameplay: 9/10
I do have to say that Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is the best volleyball game to date. Say that this game didn't have the Dead or Alive girls in it. Say that it didn't have the casino where you can gamble money to buy new bikinis and accessories. It still would be the best volleyball game to date. The way you can control the characters, hit the ball, block your opponent and etc. is just amazing. The gameplay is where the game is at. You can go to the casino and gamble the money you have earned from volleyball games and unlock lots of cool stuff for your character(s). You can unlock bikinis, sunglasses, new and different volleyballs and on and on. There is plenty to buy and unlock. So like I said, gameplay is where this games at.

Graphics: 9/10
The graphics will blow your mind. Not the best graphics I seen on the Xbox but its way up there. The way the girls move and interact with each other is just amazing. The opening scene will have you wanting to watch it again and again. The poolside is a place where you can see a lot of the games grate graphics. You can also take a rest there, play hopping game and view your items. The hopping game is fun by the way it has you "bouncing" across the pool on the floating platforms scattered along it surface. You'll also receive small prize money according to your clear time. You can also see the awesome graphics in the levels. "Niki Beach" A beach on the eastern shore of Zack Island. It's named after Zack's girlfriend. "The Private Beach" Zack's private beach on the island's northern shore. There are some mysterious animals living there. "Jungle" A jungle in the island's interior. The lush vegetation means the sun isn't as strong here as on the beach. And "Bass Island" A small island off the southeast of Zack Island.

Sound: 5/10
The music is umm....er.... okayish. There is music from Bob Marley, Christina Aguilera, Reel Big Fish, Baha Men, Meja, Raja-Nee, B*Witched and more. Original "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball" tracks are already entered in the playlist. You CAN also select tracks that have been recorded onto the Xbox. You can also have a separate playlist for daytime and night-time. The music that is playing can also be skipped or replayed by simply pressing on a single button. If it wasn't for you being able to play your own soundtrack the sound would have gotten a lower rating from me. I thought that the Original "Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball" tracks wasn't all that good.

Overall: 7/10
My overall rating for this game is 7/10. It's a grate game but not everyone would like it. I also recommend that if you ARE NOT a fan of the Dead or Alive series then definitely rent this game before you buy. If you ARE a fan of the Dead or Alive series the you should just straight up buy this game. The game is selling for very cheap now so fans shouldn't miss out on this grate opportunity to have this game in there collection. Please pay attention to the ESRB rating. Rated M for Mature and all ratings by the ESRB are final. And thank you Tecmo & Team Ninja for bringing us gamers a decent volleyball game. There could have been a little more mini games though but other then that, not bad.
