"Not as good as the other DDR games"

Dance Dance Revolution ultra mix is the first X-box version of the popular arcade games. While this version good, some minor problems hold it from being as good as the other games in the series.

Sound 7/10
The music in this game is good but compared to the other DDR games it's really lacking. There is a limited selection of song's and the announcer's voice's get annoying after a while. While there is down loadable songs. a good chunk of them can be played in different version's of the game. so the selection is kind of a mixed bag. I can only really justify paying the 5 dollars for song pack's is if you have no other way of playing these songs on another version

Control 7/10
While the control's are the same in every DDR game this one gets a 7 because of one major flaw, and that is the timing. For some odd reason the timing on this version is way off. you will find your self getting GREAT; when you should have gotten a PERFECT. Other then that the control's are basically the same up. down , left, right, control's you've known to love in a DDR game.

Graphics 6/10
The game's graphics aren't that bad, but there not particularly good. The arrow's are the same neon green as they have always been. There is nothing really noticeable about the backgrounds , and there is always some girl or a guy with an afro dancing, so all and all there is nothing really spectacular about the graphics.

Game play 8/10
It's DDR so the game play is always fun, but like I said before the lack of song's lowers it from a 9 or a 10 to an 8. One thing that really bugged me about this game is the un lockable song's, in other DDR games there where no codes to unlock all the song's, but on this a simple code can unlock all the song's.

Replay value 5/10
The game has a lot of replay value when you first get it ' but when you buy the superior Ultra mix 2 and 3 it's kind of hard to go back to this one.

Closing Statements
While Ultra mix is a good game, It's just not enough compared to other game's in the series.
