Fable: The Lost Chapters

"Unbelievable fun!!!!!"

When Fable was originally announced, it was thought that this game would be the deepest game of all time. The choice of being good or evil really got people excited. Sure, the game didn't live up to all of the hype when it was released, but it is none the less a fantastic rpg. You play as a hero (who's apparently a mute and has no name other than "Hero"). As a little kid, you're hometown of Oakvale is raided and burned to the ground by bandits. Supposedly, your entire family is killed, and you would have to if not for a hero named Maze. He takes you in and you become part of the Guild, where you learn the skills of a hero. Once your training is complete, it is your job to go throughout the world doing guild quests through which you can become as good or evil as you wish.

Graphically, there is room for improvement in this game. They gave very close attention to environmental details but it seems like they spent very little time on facial features. However, you have to take into consideration the size of this game and the amount of time Lionhead Studios was given to make this game. Lionhead did not have as much time as they hope for and the game still uses up much of the Xbox's capabilities. For what the Xbox is, the graphics are actually impressive.

The sound in this game is stunning. The music captures the mood of the environment almost perfectly and the sound effects are great.

The gameplay of this game is pretty fluid. I must say, however, that it is one of the easiest games I've ever played, next to Pokemon. Still, like Pokemon, the difficulty of the game is a non-factor because the gameplay just makes for all out fun that everyone can enjoy. The locking on system could have been slightly improved, but it is still functional. The dodging system is what makes the gameplay great. It is nearly perfectly executed and is a key factor to battling.

In addition to the quests, you have a social and personal life. You can go and buy beers, get drunk, get married, have sex, steal from shops and then sell them back the items plus much more. However, keep in mind during your personal time that every action has a consequence. Nearly every action in the game leads towards making you an evil character or a good character. So if you want to steal from a shop, remember that it will make you more evil. i find that being evil is more fun. You get to kill innocent people, kill guards, steal, make your wife divorce you and you also get 4 inch horns and glowing red eyes. It is also easier to become evil.

All in all, this game is amazing due to its depth and fun gameplay.
