1. Introduction
******************************************************************************
I am MysticWeirdo also known by my real name Warren Grieder.
Amped 3 is a snowboarding game for the Xbox Box 360. The first two games in
this series were release on the original Xbox. I cannot help with either of
these games as I've only played part way through the first one before the
games difficult progressed beyond my skill level, I've never played the
second.
The game consist of a story mode progressing over 7 mountains. After the
introductory mission there are several story challenges (The total say 38 but
a few are just activating the story point and others are for raising your
respect to required level) as you work your way to the final confrontation
against the evil Baron von Havoc. These are also 240 other challenges in
which you'll need to earn gold medals in order to become the Supreme Snow God.
You'll unlock a variety of tricks and receive upgrade points as you complete
the challenges to help you acquire the higher scores needed to earn the gold
medals in the challenges.

4.9 Combos and Multipliers
==========================
When you string more than one trick together you perform a combo and earn a
multiplier that will be applied to the score when the combo ends.
The individual combo compenents can be:
1. A series of aerial tricks on a single jump
2. A series of tricks on a rail
3. Butter and the butter tricks on a single butter run
4. Carving
Combos end if you don't score enough points on a component, don't get enough
air on a jump, go uphill, or take too long to pull of the next trick in the
combo.
After the first trick the multiplier will start going up from the base of 1.0.
The maximum possible multiplier is 15.0.
On a jump you may get multipliers of 0.1 for a minor trick like a grab or 180
spin, or 1.0 for at least a 360 spin or a flip or corkscrew.
If you butter without a trick you'll get a 0.1 increase. Doing tricks will
add to the multipler. Jumping out of butter will give you another 0.1 for a
180 spin or 0.5 for a bigger trick.
Spinning off a rail will give a 0.2 or 0.3 increase. Doing a flip on
the rail will give a 0.5 bonus.
Carving give a 0.1 or more bonus depending on how long you carve. Bonuses for
aerials from carving are the sames as for butter.
=============

In addition to the 9 trick sets, the 15 upgrades are rounded out by
Rail Balance: Jeremy Jones
Butter Balance: Nico Droz

5. Story Walkthrough
******************************************************************************
=============================
5.1 Act I: The Northstar Crew
==============================
----------------------------------------------------------
5.1.1 Bunny Hop (Introductory Mission/Character Selection)
----------------------------------------------------------
You start the game wearing a bunny costume (hiding the fact that you haven't
so much as chosen the gender of you character yet) on the slopes, with your
four friends: J-Dawg, Sebastian, Weinerboy, and Hunter. You'll find most of
the pause menu, except for options is disabled. This doesn't count as one of
the story challenges.
All you need to do you is go down the slope. You may notice popup telling you
how to recovering from falls, how to butter, and how to speed up using both
triggers. If you want try out some of the jumps and rails along the way.
Part way down you'll pass a member of the mountain's ski patrol at some
warning signs. Keep going down slope until you go over the cliff. This will
take you to the character creation screens.
In the character creation you choose the gender of you character and a limited
selection of the rider accessories from that section. Except for a few
hairstyles these are all of the free ones. (Sorry I only have the female
character listed at this time).
Exiting the character creation take you to the main menu. Select "Hit the
slopes" to head to the first mountain, Northstar. Watch the tutorial on trail
maps and challenges. You can replay this by pressing X on the trail map.
------------------------
5.1.2 Hunter Rendezvous
------------------------
Objective: Meet Hunter near the Pioneer Lift
Reward: New Sled
Talk to Hunter
--------------
You'll notice during the tutorial that there's a red star on the east side of
the North Start lower resort. Select this and start at the Pioneer Drop
point. Follow the arrow to the end of the rainbow, just ahead of you. Press
X to activate the Challenge.
What you need to do her is follow Hunter downhill to Weinerboy. Keep her in
sight ahead of you. Use a tuck (LT+RT) to catch up if you start to fall
behind. Release the tuck to avoid passing her. After a short distance you'll
be at the begin of the second part of the mission.
Weinerland 1
------------
What you need to do here is jump off of three jumps and through three rings.
Just go straight while holding A and release and the top of the jumps. Turn a
bit to the left and jump off a fourth jump to land the third jump on the
Wienervan.
Weinerland 2
------------
All you need to do in the third stage of the mission is jump onto the middle
rail ahead of you. Balance by moving the left thumbstick left or right in the
opposite direction to the meter. When you get to a gap in the rail, jump to
get to the next part of the rail. One to the jumps is a bit to the right so
watch out for it. Jump off the end of the last rail by the tires.
Weinerland 3
------------
You're on a sled for the fourth stage. Steer along the path and balance if
you start to tilt to much it by press the left or right trigger depend which
is on the opposite side to the way you're tilting. Crash into the gnomes off
the jump to end the mission.
-----------------------------
5.1.3 Meet up with Sebastian
-----------------------------
Talk to Sebastian
You'll need to earn at least 2,000 respect from challenges before you can
continue the story. Once you've earned it you go to the red star that will
appear on the map. Board down from the Loveseat drop point to it and press X
in the circle to Talk to Sebastian.
That's all there is to the mission. There is no reward.
-------------
5.1.4 Zen Run
-------------
Reward: Zen Awesomeness
The next story challenge is right by the Loveseat Lift. Go to it to begin the
first phase of this mission.
Corkscrews
----------
You'll need to do a corkscrew (Left thumbstick diagonal) off the jump in the
first phase and score 4000 point. Push it only half way to earn more point.
Add a grab as well, make sure to release both the thumbstick and grab before
landing. There are three jumps here so you don't need to get all the points
in one jump, although it's quite possible.
Butter
------
Push the left stick up then down to initiate the butter required in the second
phase. Try some of the tricks to earn points. You need to score 2500 while
you go through the 5 rings which are in a fairly straight line,
Style
-----
You'll need to use style, pushing the left thumbstick only halfway, while
doing the jumps in the third phase. Score 5000 points to proceed. You'll be
able to earn these with minimal change of crashing if you do spins on the
three jumps.
Carving
-------
To carve you need to push left or right with the left thumbstick and push and
hold the trigger that's on the same sides as the direction you're pressing.
Switch direction when the points stop going up to continue carvings.
Score 5000 point while passing through the 10 gates to pass the challenge.
There are 5 seconds on the clock to begin with and each gate adds 4 seconds.
Its ok to miss a couple so long as you down run out of time. The first gate
is a bit to the right. Go ahead to the second. The third is to the left. Go
right to the fourth, and left to the fifth. Alternate right and left the rest
of the way down. Carve most of the way (stop after the ninth gate so you get
credit for the point) and you should get the required score.
Ultimate Test (Big Air)
-------------
You need 12 second of hang time for the final Zen challenge.
Hold A and release on the jump ahead going through the first two of nine gate.
Turn right a bit and straighten out for the next jump. Hold and release A on
it going through three more gates.
Board ahead through the sixth gate. Go through the next two off the next
jump. Go through the final gate off a fourth gate.
If you made all four jumps you should have got the 12 seconds.
Follow Sebastian
----------------
Just keep up with Sebastian by tucking if he starts getting too far ahead.
Release the tuck so you don't go by hit. You don't need to worry about doing
any of the stunts he does.
You can now do the Awesomeness Challenges.
----------------------
5.1.5 Easter Egg Roll
----------------------
REWARD: Northstar Easter Egg Roll Trophy
You'll need to have 4800 respect to do the next mission. This challenge
begins down and left of the Pioneer drop point just past the Magpie Revenge
callout.
There are 30 seconds on the clock. You need to steer through 14 of the
rolling eggs to complete this challenge. Don't do any stunts as they just
waste time. The are lots of eggs so it shouldn't pose much of a problem.
---------------------
5.1.6 Bully Boarders
---------------------
You'll need to get you're respect up to 8500 to unlock the upper resort area.
This challenge starts at the bottom of the lower resort area. Board down to
it from the Sunrise Half-Pipe drop.
Activated the mission circle is all there is to do here. There is no reward.
--------------------------
5.1.7 Night Pass Challenge
--------------------------
Reward: Northstar Night Pass + 400 Respect
Snow Quest
----------
Go to the upper resort for this challenge. Board to the left from the
Comstock lift and activate the red circle.
You need to amass a score of at least 30,000 within 43 seconds. You should be
able to get at least a 2x combo by doing back aerial stunts off the first
jump. There are plenty of jumps past this to pad your score if you didn't get
enough here.
------------------------
5.1.8 Use the Night Pass
------------------------
Reward: Trip to Snowbird
This challenge starts at the Comstock Drop point in the Upper Resort.
Bully Boarders 1
--------------
You'll need to board after the bad guys here. Tuck to keep from falling too
far back. Release before you get to close. Try to keep the meter at the top
in the center of the green area. The path goes straight until you get to a
cut scene.
Bully Boarders 2
--------------
Same as the first phase, but turn right at the beginning and go straight to
the next cutscene.
Bully Boarders 3
--------------
Enter the snowmobile. Again you'll need to keep up with the boards. Use the
right trigger to accelerate and ease up when you start to get to close. Try
not to wipe out by hitting obstacles as you follow the up the mountain.
Wait a second before starting and follow them as they turn left up the slope.
They turn a bit to the right after a short distance and the a bit left a bit
further on. It's straight from here to the top of the lift and another
cutscene.
Bully Boarders 4
----------------
There are 9 seconds on the clock to reach the last of 9 gates ahead of you on
the snowmobile. Each gate you hit adds 5 seconds so you'll want to try to hit
them. Keep the right trigger pulled unless you need to make a sharp turn.
The first two gates are straight ahead. The third is just a bit to the left.
The fourth is around the bend to the left. You'll need to hit the jump to get
to the fifth gate without a significant detour.
Go straight from there through the next 2 gates. Hit the jump and go through
the eighth gate past it. The last gate is on the top of a jump a bit further
on.
----------------------
5.1.9 Go to Snowboard
----------------------
The story now proceeds to the next mountain Snowbird. Go to the Main Menu and
select Travel to New Mountain. Select Snowbird now that it's unlocked. Hit
to slopes to start the next chapter.
===========================================
5.2 ACT II: Super Utah Piggie Patrol Party
===========================================
--------------------------------
5.2.1 Viral Dimensions Marketing
--------------------------------
The first story point at Snowbird is at the bottom of the Wilbere Ridge map.
Board down to it from Tolman's Drop. Activate the circle to begin the
mission.
Mortality Ad
------------
You're using a hang glider here. Steer is with the left thumbstick. Press A
and push forward to start. The are 5 rings to fly through. The first four
are fairly straight ahead from the jump curving a bit to the left. The last
is around the turn to the left and down a bit.
To turn pull the thumbstick is the desire direction briefly and tap it in the
opposite direction a couple of times to level off so you don't fall. Descend
by pushing up, and rise by pushing down.
-----------------------
5.2.2 Smash the Pinatas
-----------------------
This story challenge should be just ahead of you at the bottom of Wilbere
Ridge. Activate it.
You need to Smash 5 pinatas in this mission, you have 1:13 to get them all.
The first is reach by taking the jump ahead of you, adjusting the line a bit
to the right.
Turn right on landing to head to the next pinata at the top of another jump
some distance away.
Go straight and a bit left to get the third pinata at the top of the next
jump. The fourth one is a bit further ahead and to the right.
The final pinata is straight ahead a ways.
You'll likely need to tuck or crouch for part of this challenge to make it in
time.
---------------------
5.2.3 Super Stunt Man
---------------------
You'll need to board back to the bottom of Wilbere Ridge to get to the
beginning of the challenge.
You need to hit the doors off the two trams going through them and land to the
ramp and land on the ramp past them to complete the mission.
You're best bet here is to wait until the leading end of red tram on the left
is flush with the left edge of the ramp ahead. When it is pull the right
trigger all the way and hold it until you're through the trams. Keep the
snowmobile level in flight so you don't crash when you land.
--------------------
5.2.4 Talk to Roman
--------------------
Reward: Lower Baldy Unlocked
You'll need a total of 2200 respect at Snowbird to begin the next challenge.
Once you have this you'll find the next story point back at the bottom left of
the map.

bit to the left over a series of jumps in the direction of the arrow to get
toe the skier. Crouch or tuck to get there with a few seconds to spare.
Skier Down 2
------------
You'll now be riding a sled. You need to go through 8 gates before the time
elapses to complete the challenge. There are 10 second on the clock initials
and each gate adds 3 seconds if you go through it. The gates are in a fairly
straight line so you should only need to steer a little bit. If you start
tilting too much use the triggers to balance out.
------------------------
5.2.4 Crazy Chicken Rider
------------------------
Reward: Spin Speed Upgrade
You should be close to this point after the last mission. Activate it to
begin the challenge.
This is like a lord of the boards challenge. You'll need to beat the pro, the
Crazy Chicken, on 5 of 7 tricks.
Trick 1: This is a jump followed by a rail. The target score is 6,000. A
styled spin landing on the rail, a trick on the rail, and a half spin coming
off it should be enough.
Trick 2: A jump. Target score is 3000. A styled aerial should get this for
you, try to get a multiplier with a quick half spin before and after the jump.
Trick 3: A rail to the right to the side of a slope. Target score is 4,500.
Jump and spin onto it, grind in a bit, and jump and spin of it to make the
trick.

5.2.5 Talk to Roman Again
--------------------------
You need to have earned 7,000 respect at Snowbird to get the next challenge.
It's back to the bottom of Wilbere ridges again to activate the quest circle.
That's all there is to this mission.
--------------------------
5.2.6 Trench Run Gauntlet
--------------------------
Reward: Unlock Snowbird: Tram area
This story point appears to the right of Lower Chips drop on the Wilbere Ridge
Map. Turn left when you drop and you'll see the circle a short distance away.
Activating the circle begins the mission. You'll be snowboarding through 18
gates with 9 seconds on the clock. Each gate adds 5 seconds to the clock. If
a snowballer knocks you down here causing you to miss a gate, just keep going
there should be enough time to give you a margin of error.
Tuck and go straight through the first gate as you jump off a rock.
Turn right to get the second gate in the log structure. Turn left to get the
third jump behind another rock jump.
Turn right again to get the fourth gate and grind the log there to go through
the fifth gate.
You need to turn left a bit to get the sixth gate and grind the log by it to
get the seventh, dropping down to get the eighth. Grind the log here to get
the ninth by jumping off to the left and the end.
Grind the log where you land to get the tenth log (or just board by the log
since the gate touches the ground. The next gate is straight ahead from here
and the twelfth is a bit further ahead and to the right.
Turn right and tuck to get the next gate and make it through the low gap in
the log structure. If you make the gap go straight to get the 14th gate on
the other side.
Go to the left of the moving logs to get the 15th gate. Go by the next logs
when they're rising to get the 16th gate. The next set of logs will need to
be passed on the right and then quickly turn left to get to the 17th gate.
Grind the log ahead to get the final gate after jumping from the end of it.
--------------------------
5.2.7 Find Berlin Sheraton
--------------------------
Reward: Trip to Valle Nevado
You'll need to earn 15,000 respect in total at Snowbird to unlock the next
story point.
This story point is in the bottom right of the Tram map. Board down from the
Lower Cirque drop and activate the circle to begin the mission.
You're mission here is to follow Berlin Sheraton at a discrete distance and
take photos of her falling.
Y pulls out or puts away the camera. A takes a picture. LT zooms out and RT
zooms in.
You need to get 4 great photos within the 2:58 minutes on the clock. Along
her run Berlin will fall at five different points and have a lot of trouble
getting up giving you ample opportunity to get the photos.
Pull back on the left thumbstick to come to a stop while Berlin and her guards
go by. Turn right and follow them. If you hear the guards shouting, your too
close so fall back.
The first point Berlin falls is by the "Slaughter" banner. Pull out the
camera by pressing Y. If you're too close the guards will throw snowballs,
put the camera away and back off a bit. If your out of the guards sight and
zoom in on Berlin with RT. Press A when she's on the ground and you should
get a "Great Shot". She'll fall several times.
You should be able to get the require number of photos at the banner. If not
you'll have four more opportunities, the first three of which will occur be
evergreen trees and the last at the top of a slope.

rock jump ahead of you. You'll miss two in the air. Turn right while getting
the four at the corner to bring your total to 7.

Spin on the way down and go through the 17th circle on the rail below. Go
through the 18th circle and transfer to the left. Go through the last two
circles on the final rail.
Provided you maintained your combo throughout the ride and did spins during
the transfers your multiplier should be high enough to meet the score
requirement. There's no need to complicate matters by doing tricks on the
rails, concentrate on balancing.
Crouching Hunter 2
------------------
You'll now faced with a second rail challenge. You need to score 85,000
points this time as you pass through 34 gates. The course starts off the
same but takes a different path through the rails.

end and go through the 12th circle on the rail below.
Go through the 13th circle at the end of the rail. Spins as you drop to the
rail below. Go through the 14th and 15th circles on this rail. Transfer to
the left at the end of the rail.
Go through the 16th circle and transfer to the left. Go through the 17th
circle. Spin as you drop of the end.
Go through the 18th and 19th circles. Spin on the short drop and go through
the 20th circle. Spin as you drop again. Go through the 21st and 22nd
circle.
Go over a short gap and go through the 23rd circle. Go over another short gap
and go through the 24th circle. Go over yet another short gap and go through
the 25th circle and yet again for the 26th circle.
Transfer to the right and go through the 27th and 28th circles. Spin as you
drop and go through the 29th circle.
You'll need a good jump to transfer to the right here to get the 30th and 31st
circles. Transfer back to the left to get the 32nd and 33rd circles. The
last transfer is to the right to go through the final circle.
Again if you keep the multiplier up and did spins on the transfers and longer
gaps you should be able to make the required score. Again, there's no need to
complicate matters by doing tricks on the rails, concentrate on balancing.

straight ahead. Try to avoid the snow banks to minimize hang time, by going
to the left of the banks between the 3rd and 4th gates you're line will be set
up well for the 5th.
Turn left at the 5th gate and take the jump, push forward a bit while airborne
to prevent a crash. Go into the narrow gap and hit the 6th gate. Go through
the passage and hit the 7th gate at a drop into a larger area.
Adjust course towards the 8th gate at another drop. You need to turn a bit
left to head towards the 9th gate, while avoiding the rocks.
Cut through the fence to the right at the point where you go through the 10th
gate, you may need to slow up a bit to hit the gap in the fence.. Keep the

6. Challenges
******************************************************************************
Note: If you're missing a couple of medals for the snow god achievements first
make sure you stoked to the two maps that down have a specific achievement
associated with them, you get gold medals for these. If you have done that,
then I suggest looking behind the lift signs. Use the stats in your My Stash
to find out which challenge types you haven't completed a cross-reference
below. The subsection heading give the name of the challenge, the location,
and the color of the difficulty indicator where applicable.
Complete these challenges to earn COIN and RESPECT in addition to the medals.
I had 197,150 Coin and 311,950 Respect after completing everything. NOTE:
After buying everything I still had well over 100,000 Coin left, there's no
danger of running out of money for something you might want later.
If a challenge is locked, selecting it will need you how much more respect you
need to earn on the current mountain to unlock it. Immediate level challenge
will unlock after earn some respect and the advanced challenges after earn a
fair bit more. Some media callouts also unlock at the same time as both the
intermediate and advanced challenges although they offer no other way to
distinguish their difficulty.

Snowbird Intermediate challenges unlock at 3,000 respect earned at Snowbird.

Valle Navado Intermediate challenges unlock at 10,000 respect earned at Valle
Navado.
Valle Navado Advanced challenges (except for the already unlocked Shortcut)

All locked points at Laax will require 6,000 respect to be earned at Laax.

Lab.

required for each medal types and the cumulative reward for each challenge are
listed.
