Battle System 101 (ESBS)
------------------
Attacking:
There are three options of attacking: light, medium, and hard.
-Light attacks have the highest accuracy and only use 1 AP, but they are the
weakest attacks.
-Medium attacks have a mid-range accuracy, use 2 AP, and do medium damage.
- Hard attacks do the most damage, but use 3 AP and have the lowest accuracy.
As you land consecutive hits, your accuracy goes up (think Chrono Trigger.)
For example, a hard attack has a 90% chance of connecting, but after
performing a light attack, a hard attack now has a 92% chance of hitting the
enemy.
Some character's hard attacks have special effects such as launching an enemy
into the air, pushing them back, and knocking them to the ground. A symbol
next to the hard attack command indicates if the hard attack has a special
effect and what it will do, if anything.
Healing:
Only Diaz can heal initially, but other characters can be equipped with
healing spells. However, Diaz is great for healing, as he doesn't need SP to
do it. The downfall is that he cannot heal himself unless he has a healing
spell, such as Curing Prayer, equipped.
Specials:
Using a Special consumes a certain amount of SP and 1 AP. Specials can range
from healing spells to offensive spells. Some can target only a single square,
while others have a wide range of effect.
Characters gain a Specials when they reach certain levels, but they can also
be equipped with them.
Friend Gauge:
The Friend Gauge slowly builds up as attacks and Specials are used. However,
Diaz's Alert skill will increase the gauge by a certain amount as well.
The Assist and Team Work commands can be selected when enough bars of the
Friend Gauge have been built up.
- Assist uses 1 bar of the Friend Gauge. Assist can be selected after a
successful hit on an enemy if another ally is in range. Using Assist will
cause an ally to attack the selected enemy and is useful for quickly finishing
off an enemy.
-Team Work uses 2 bars of the Friend Gauge. Team Work can be used at any time
during a party member's turn. Using Team Work will give an ally an extra turn
and is useful for building up combos and for emergency healing.
Battle Formations and the Rage Meter:
Battle Formations can be used when the Rage Meter reaches at least 25. Level 4
is the highest the Rage Meter can reach (100 points.) The Rage Meter increases
by using Team Work and Assist.
Battle Formations must be used before attacking or using Specials and six
characters need to be alive to use them. The amount of damage done depends on
the level of the Rage Meter.

Walkthrough
------------
Mission 1: The drumbeats of war sound... 1 (W1PP)
Conditions of Victory:
Eliminate all enemies within 15 turns
Conditions of Defeat:
All allies are defeated or incompletion of the victory condition
Enemies:
Your first enemies consist of three Killer Bees and two Hiyokos.
Items from chests: Blue Soul, Gunpowder, Blade Orb
Characters:
The battle begins automatically after the opening scenes. Your party members
consist of Cassius, Dragan, Judo, Begina, and Diaz. All are at level 1 except
for Judo, who is at level 11.
Strategy:
Not much strategy is required here. After nabbing the items in the chests,
send three people, including Judo and Diaz towards the Killer Bees. Diaz is
your healer; he can't attack and he can't heal himself. Keep him a few squares
behind your other characters to make sure they don't die. I recommend using
Hard Attacks with Judo, since his hit rate is higher than the other
characters, while sticking to Light Attacks with all other characters (unless
you're feeling lucky.) You should be able to easily kill the enemies within
just a few turns, so don't worry about the 15 turn limit.

Six Skeleton Soldiers. There are two groups of them, with three in each group.
Items from Chests: Rare Pearl, Crimson Tear, Poison Needle
Characters: Dragan, Diaz, Judo, Begina, and Cassius
Strategy:
The skeletons are a little stronger than the Killer Bees you fought earlier,
but they shouldn't pose a threat as long as you don't let them all beat up on
one character (unless it's Judo.) Keep your characters together and in range
of Diaz, in case something goes terribly wrong.

Diaz - Assist and Teamwork
There's not much to do now. Equip your characters with the best armors you've
acquired during the previous two fights and select Mission from the menu, then
Monster Hunter 1. You don't need to worry about the Smithy for now; you
probably can't make much of anything at this point and you can acquire most of
the rings in the next mission.
Monster Hunter 1:

Characters: Begina, Diaz
Strategy: As you start to loot the many chests in the area, two Killer Bees
will appear. At this point, the victory conditions will change, giving you a
second way to win. I recommend to kill the enemies for the experience anyway.
In addition to chests, you may notice boxes surrounding four red squares (a
third Killer Bee will appear as you approach this area.) The squares indicate
the destination point, the boxes, however, can be 'opened' just like chests.
Use Diaz to break open the boxes (if you position him right he can break open
most of them in a single turn. A large orb will appear on the square if there
is an item there; simply stop on the square to obtain the item. The items
obtained from the boxes, however, are random.
After defeating all enemies, two more Hiyokos and 1 Killer Bee will appear.
Keep Diaz out of the enemies' range and only move him forward if Begina needs
to be healed. Be very careful not to let either of your party members die,
because after you kill this group of enemies, a level 3 Dogman, a Killer Bee,
and a Hiyoko join the fight. Begina will probably need to be healed after
every turn, so move him back towards Diaz. When it becomes Diaz's turn, move
him as far away from the enemies as you can, while still being in range to
heal Begina. This won't be easy with only two characters so remember you can
always finish the mission by stopping on the red squares.
(Note: It is possible to get Mercury Ore from the boxes, though it is rare. I
don't recommend restarting the mission for it.)

Strategy:
Don't let the large number of enemies throw you off as most of them won't even
move until you get within a square or two of them. Use Special Attacks to help
take out the closest two groups of enemies, including the Dm Warrior and
Priest. The Priest has a ranged magic attack, so consider that when moving
your allies... especially Diaz. This battle really isn't hard as long as you
keep up with healing. Enemies tend to pick on one character; if you get in a
bad position because of this, remember to use Teamwork to give that character
an extra turn to move away. When you get to the top of the map (near Eunice),
you can actually block the enemies from reaching Diaz if you position them on
the three squares between the opening in the wall. You can place Diaz directly
behind them so they'll always be in range for healing when its needed. The
archers will still be able to target him, however.

You should have enough money by now to upgrade everyone's weapons. At the very
least, have Begina's and Dragan's weapons to level 2.
Select Find Work, then Army of Flauster.
(Note: In order to keep this guide organized, I've put the Find Work missions
in their own section.)
Keep doing the generic battles until your party is level 6 or 7 and everyone
has level 3 weapons. At this point, you should be able to attack the Elf
Alliance and the Underworld Army (strategies and information are located in
the generic mission section.)
A new mission should now be available.
Geomancy Line (W2GS)

Strategy:
Initially there are only three Dm Swordsmen, but after 3 turns four more
appear on the other side of the bridge. More reinforcements arrive on turn 6:
two more sorcerers, an archer, and a warrior. Another four Dm Swordsmen appear
on the first side of the bridge on turn 8. It is possible to get all the
chests and reach the destination point in time, but the chests here don't
contain anything special and the mission will be easier if you simply ignore
them. I would also ignore the group of enemies that spawn on turn 8. The most
important thing is to not let the bridge get cluttered by units because
several turns can be wasted if it does.

Strategy:
The initial enemies are missing over half of their HP. Try out Diaz's Earth
Guardia spell on his first turn, since it will hit all five enemies. Start
picking off the rest of them with your other characters until a more
intimidating group of enemies appear: five warriors and two archers. Don't
place Diaz on the yellow boost point just yet; he will be very close to a
third group of enemies that appear (5 warriors, 1 sorcerer and another
archer.) Use Begina, Cassius, and Dragan to form a blockade around the yellow
boost point so the warriors can't target Diaz if you choose to use it. Team
Work helps a lot here; you should be able to take out two or three warriors in
one turn if you use it. If you don't have the FP to do this, remember that
Diaz's alert skill increases the gauge.

Strategy:
First of all, move your characters to the lower right corner of the
battlefield, near the three chests. Position Diaz on the yellow boost point;
this one will heal the whole party's HP every turn. Once Diaz get to the boost
point, have him make another one in front of him for Begina to stand on. It is
very important to keep Diaz alive, but it is more important for Begina to
survive. If things start getting bad have Begina run from the enemies then
heal (if he has Curing Prayer equipped.) On turn 8 a group of enemies appear
in the top left corner, so keep your characters away from there if you have to
run. Do NOT approach the enemies and do NOT try to kill Jadou - unless you are
on New Game +, of course. If you do manage to kill Jadou, you will receive the
Concentrate and Aim emblems and Judo will return to your party... somehow.

a character's last attack to do more damage. Diaz can use his alert skill to
boost the Friend Gauge.
Recruiting Shimazwei:
He's easy to get. Just get Begina to the destination point (red squares.) The
enemies are very weak, so you really shouldn't have to worry about dying.

Recruiting Mayura:
Mayura appears around turn 5. You have to get near her with Begina (within
about ten squares or so.) She will leave after the short scene and will spawn
Big Pols. She will join you when you complete the mission. Dragan and Cassius
talk to her at the end of the mission so it's a possibility that they are
required to be in the battle.
(Note: Killing the Big Pols does NOT affect her joining you, so go ahead and
kill them for extra experience.)

keeping up with your weapon levels.
Recruiting Lamia:
Move Mayura near Lamia to see a conversation. Lamia will retreat after this,
however, she will come back and join you after you kill her troops. Begina,
Cassius, and Mayura may need to be alive for this, because they talk to her
after the battle.

Strategy:
Make your way to Rimm and kill the Pols around her. When there is only one
left, four level 16 Pol Pols will appear. When there is only one Pol Pol left
more enemies appear: five big Pols and a level 24 Dark Knight. This is when
the mission starts to get tricky. I don't think it's required to kill him, but
you should kill the Dark Knight first. He can cause a lot of damage to your
party members. There is a yellow Boost Point that Diaz can stand on near the
top left corner of the map. Have as many allies as you can attacking one Big
Pol at once. Keep a healer near Rimm to make sure she doesn't die.
Recruiting Rimm:
Just keep her alive during the mission. You also may need to keep Diaz and
Dragan alive to recruit her.

The Trouble with Goblins (W3TU)

12 Goblin Soldiers LV16-18, Big Mama LV20, Culcha LV22
Items in chests: Crimson Skeleton, Lead Ore
Characters:
Begina, Diaz. It's the first level 4 mission, though so definitely bring
everyone you can.
Strategy:
You only have to kill 10 of them, so just attack whichever ones approach you
first. There is an AP Boost Point near where you start. Have Diaz stand on it
so he can heal and use Alert every turn. The goblins will go down fast using
Assist on almost every character's turn. Try to build up your Rage Meter, but
pay attention to how many goblins you have killed so it doesn't get wasted.
Culcha will not attack unless you go directly next to her. Also, don't have
your characters lined up in a row, ever, as the goblins use Dragon Claw and
their normal attacks hit three squares.
Recruiting Culcha: Culcha joins automatically.

while keeping the rest of the party a few squares away from Primrose, ready
for the rest of the enemies to spawn.

The fight is pretty standard except for Anita. Her attacks are super strong
and unless you are ridiculously over-leveled at this point she will be able to
take out any of your characters HP in a couple turns. That said, definitely
keep her away from Diaz/any other mages you brought.
Recruiting Anita:
You have to perform a combo of at least 21 hits. Spend the whole battle
building the Rage Meter so you can unleash a level 3 or 4 Battle Formation
(that should do it by itself.) If a character other than Diaz dies, you will
no longer be able to perform. If this happens, have two bars of the Friend
Gauge full and make sure Begina has at least 300 SP. Approach an enemy with a
lot of health and unleash Thunder Blade as many times as you can, followed by
light attacks. Use Team Work before ending your turn, switching to a character
near an enemy with a skill that has a high hit count. If you choose to do this
by getting a large Rage Meter, the higher level Diaz's weapon is, the faster
this will go. The combo does NOT have to be performed on Anita. Dragan may be
required to participate in the mission.

on turn 4. All you have to do to complete the mission is defeat Zog and Zok,
so do that and ONLY that. Trying to kill the knights will only result in your
party being slaughtered. It's unlikely that you'll be able to use Battle
Formations on them since they'll probably kill one of your party members
within a few turns, so attack them with as many characters as you can. Use
regular attacks, skills and especially Assist to kill them.

Before the battle, equip a character with the Godspeed Emblem, preferably the
one with the highest HP. If you really must go after the chests, clear out
almost all of the enemies first (excluding Zog and Zok; they won't attack
until you are very close to them.) Use the knights to build up a level 4 Rage
Meter - Diaz's Alert is the key to doing this. Once you've done that, use
Godspeed and move that character up to either Zog or Zok and unleash it. It
should kill him, but if not a few physical attacks should finish him off. Use
Team Work if you need to quickly move that character away from the remaining
enemy. Bring the rest of your party forward and use skills that do high
damage, such as Gaia Spear, Grand Cross, Goblin Heave, etc.

Strategy:
You can split your party into two groups for this one as long as you have a
healer on both sides. Have one group kill the enemies around Lilia Ple and the
other groups can kill the enemies around the swordsman on the other side of
the bridge. If you want the swordsman to help kill the enemies on that side
then heal him if he gets hurt. A few more enemies will spawn on turns 5 and 6.
When the second group of enemies by Lilia Ple are almost all dead, start
moving most of your allies to the other side of the bridge; a larger group of
enemies will spawn there when all other enemies are defeated. If Culcha has
her Goblin's Heaven skill, you can use that on the larger group. They'll all
be left with about half health and you'll rack up a nice combo.

the throne. Secondly, don't bother with the chests here. Immediately position
your party members so that Begina and another good attacker are on the two
front red squares and so Diaz and another mage are on the two back red
squares - Chris can't reach the throne if your party members are on the tiles.
Finally, position the two remaining characters on the squares next to Diaz and
the other mage. It will be a few turns before enemies reach you; do not move
anyone out of formation. Use Specials and long range attacks to pick off the
nearby enemies.

sure not to have any lone party members in that area. They are close together,
so Begina's Crescent Edge and Culcha's Goblin Heaven work well here. Also,
Malimar has an accessory that gives him an extra 3000 HP or so and let's him
move twice during a turn, so you shouldn't need to worry about him.

The following three missions require you to have at least the High Mercenary
rank. If you do not have this rank yet, either skip this for now, or complete
Find Work mission until you attain this rank. Getting an S for a mission is
not required - I never got an S rank up to this point. Several A's seem to do
it just fine.
This will be easiest with Culcha's Goblin Heaven and Begina's Crescent Edge;
basically what you want to do is to have Diaz raise their SP to at least 400
each, and have him use his Alert skill if he has enough AP left. When both
Begina and Culcha have enough SP have Begina use Crescent Edge on the largest
group of enemies, then use Team Work and use Culcha's Goblin Heaven on the
same group of enemies. If you also have a Battle Formation ready, use Team
Work again on someone nearby and have them use the Battle Formation on an
enemy that was already targeted by both Crescent Edge and Goblin Heaven.

If you are doing this mission in the order this guide follows your party will
be around twice the levels of the enemies, making for an extremely easy win.
If not, head for the enemies on the right side first, making a counter clock-
wise circle around to the ninja group. Healers are obviously important here,
so always keep them in range of your allies. Save two bars of the Friend Gauge
in case you need Eunice to heal someone. Do not over estimate your party
members here; it is still somewhat unlikely that one of them alone can take on
5 or 6 enemies by themselves and not go under 10%.

Orochimaru and Hototogisu are both very strong and can kill an enemy in two
attacks. You probably won't have to heal either of them, but keep a healer

off enemies before they get turns if you want the experience. Head for the
close group on the left for now. After everyone in that first group is dead,
enemies will spawn on the beach. Using Goblin Heaven and Crescent Edge will
take them out fast, though. Finally, go for the final, small group of enemies.
Recruiting Orochimaru and Hototogisu:
Move Rengeki, Eunice, and Culcha near him during the battle to start a
conversation; this is done easy right at the beginning since he's just a

I'm going to assume that Rimm, Anita, and Kiratt are still around levels 20-
22, as it's unlikely that most people have been leveling them all up. Begina
and Rato will be, basically, the only party members doing any attacking. Keep
Anita, Kiratt, and Rimm in the back for now. Anita can be used to attack ONLY
if there are not many enemies left or if a single enemy comes near her. Rimm
can cast Diamond Palm to increase Rato and Begina's strength. A group of
warriors and priests spawn in the center of the map after most of the initial
enemies have been defeated. Try to save up both Rato and Begina's SP so Begina
can use Crescent Edge and Rato can use Rose Fire. This should kill or almost

to prevent any characters dying. First of all, save Begina and Culcha's SP, so
you can use Crescent Edge and Goblin Heaven on as many of the enemies as
possible. It may not kill all of them, but at least the remaining enemies will
be easy to pick off. Radui will retreat when you take out about half of his
health.

The group of knights in the center will slowly start advancing towards you. Do
not move towards them; if you kill all the enemies between the two cliffs,
Zog, Zok, and the Kodama's with them will be able to target your party from
above. Instead, start moving your party up the cliff that Zog is located on.
There is a HP Boost Point on the top that will heal all party members.
Position your party on and around that Boost Point and fight the knights from
there. When they are dead, move towards Zog, but stay a bit away from him so
you can kill the enemies surrounding him when they advance towards you first.
Zog shouldn't be a problem by himself, so take him down, using skills like
Gaia Spear to do more damage to him. Start moving towards Zok; the enemies
surrounding him will start to move towards you, allowing you to kill them

Begin by taking out the warriors on the ground; there aren't many of them, so
it shouldn't be a problem. Zakifon is kind of annoying; he does a lot of hard
attacks, and his hard attacks knock the enemy on the ground. As you know, your
party members don't do as much regular attack damage to enemies on the ground,
so defeat the standing enemies before finishing off the knocked down enemies.
Move up the cliffs towards Aliwess. The enemies around him will get to you
first, so try to defeat them before Aliwess gets close. Aliwess won't actually
die; he'll teleport away when he has little HP remaining and all remaining
enemies will gain full SP. Move to the other side and use a Battle Formation,
if you can, on Siegried. He won't actually die, either, so you don't need to
completely drain his HP bar.

This mission can be a little difficult. First of all, do not have any of your
party members try to take on a group by themselves; keep everyone together.
Glomyu and the first group of enemies are easy. It will only get hard if you
do not kill the first group of enemies before the second group starts to head
towards you. Make sure Diaz has a healing spell such as Green Blessing so he
can heal everyone at once. Gray has the Parry Five accessory, so combos will
not hurt him until the sixth hit. It is best just to use a level 4 Battle
Formation on him, but if you cannot do this, use Assist and Team Work to
defeat him. There shouldn't be many enemies left, so Million isn't a problem.
The mission is over as soon as all three generals have been defeated, so you
can kill him now or take out the remaining enemies first.

there is an HP Boost Point that will heal your entire party located near
Chic's starting point. Have your party meet there, and place Diaz on the Boost
Point. If Shimazwei and Fuya are at low levels keep them in the back near
Diaz. When all enemies are dead, another group will spawn, and then another
after the second group has been eliminated. The two groups don't spawn near
the Boost Point, so if you get impatient you can leave Diaz (or another
character) on it while you send the rest of your party to fight off the
enemies.

The beginning of this fight can be hard. The soldiers and priests will
surround you on all sides. Faberge is the only general who will attack at

of Assists and Team Work, but specials can be very helpful as well. Cassius's
Gaia Spear followed by two attacks from him will take out a lot of HP. After
you have wittled their numbers down, the rest should be fairly easy. Starina,
for example, has low HP and can be taken out in a single turn just from
physical attacks. Azerea is strong and has the healing spell Green Blessing as
well as her own unique special.

each side. Move the two groups on both sides of the flower bed near the
starting point. The sides around this are narrow, so this will ensure that
your character's turns don't get wasted. Make sure to have a decent healer on
both sides and at least two sections of the Friend Gauge in case something
goes wrong. Fight off the zombies and then the angels as quickly as possible
so you don't get overwhelmed. Guriza and the Holy Knights will start advancing
when both generals are dead. If you have enough sections of FG stored up,
unleash a long series of specials and physical attacks, killing as many Holy
Knights as you can before they get the chance to heal themselves. Guriza can
easily be taken out with a level 4 Battle Formation, naturally.

the map, that doesn't mean he can't hit a character with his unique special.
Also, the riflemen will likely stay on top of the hill and shoot at your party
members from there, so don't ever think that just because there aren't enemies
near you that a party member with low HP is safe. Simba has high HP, thanks to
an accessory. Use a level 4 Battle Formation on him, then finish him off with
a few regular attacks.

Your party should be around level 55 at least. Winning this battle really
depends on what you have equipped. Fenrir will very likely attack one party
member throughout the whole fight, for example, he only attacked Begina every
time I retried this. As a result, Begina ended up with a few hundred SP every
turn. I put an HP Up Emblem on him so he could use this every turn and use
Diaz and Eunice for damaging him and using Alert. It is important to make sure
whichever character is being attacked always has full HP before Fenrir
attacks, because you never know when he will get a critical hit or when he
won't heal. Using Diaz's Alert skill is also important; Assist will be your
best friend through this battle, as it cannot miss. Unleash a Level 4 Battle
Formation as soon as you can and then immediately begin working on another
one. If his HP gets very low, however just use the second Battle Formation as
well, and finish him off as quickly as possible so he doesn't heal again.
Other adjustments may need to be made to your equiptment, such as accessories
that boost max HP.

should go down quickly. A group of Steel Bugs and a Rafflesia will spawn next
to the a werewolf on turn 4 and a group will spawn next to the other werewolf
on turn 6. I've also found this mission to be an easy place to get an S
ranking. Use Diaz to raise Culcha and Begina's SP, then use Team Work to chain
Goblin Heaven and Crescent Edge together and hit as many of the first group of
Steel Bugs as you can. If you have two sections of the Friend Gauge left,
switch to another party member with enough SP to do a third big special on the
same group. The Steel Bugs should almost be dead, so finish them off and have
a party member use a level 4 Battle Formation on the nearby werewolf. The
second group of Steel Bugs should spawn by this point, so repeat the same

This is going to be a hard battle. My characters were only level 70 at this
point so it is completly possible to do this at a lower level, but I recommend
leveling up to at least 75 if you have the patience. Start with the Steel Bugs
near the starting point; the Devil Knights will start advancing towards you,
along with Zog and Zok, so defeat the Steel Bugs as quickly as possible. Do
not waste Battle Formations on Zog and Zok as they can be taken out with
regular attacks and specials fairly quick. Small groups of enemies will spawn
on turns 7 and 9 and will head towards your party immediately. If any
characters cannot reach the enemies on their turn and they have ample SP, use
their third special (if it isn't healing) on as many enemies as possible so
they can be defeated faster.
Defeat as many enemies as possible before the Boy gets to you or things can
turn bad very quickly. If you haven't noticed, the Boy has an accessory with
Parry 10. A Battle Formation, of course, would be ideal, but it will be hard
to keep everyone alive throughout the battle. You can, however still kill him
fairly easy without a Battle Formation, it will just take a little more
planning. For example, when the Boy was the only remaining enemy, I only had
Diaz, Cassius, and Culcha left. Cassius had an HP Emblem equipped, so he could
usually heal himself. I had Diaz raise Culcha's SP, use his Alert, and heal as
needed. When there were two sections of the FG, Culcha used Goblin's Heaven on
the boy, followed by medium attacks. I then used Team Work to switch to
Cassius and had him do hard attacks. The Boy should be dead after about three
or four turns doing this.

Fortunately, this is a lot easier than the first part of the mission. Start
off by nabbing the great armors from the three chests, taking out Zog and Zok
on the way. You will likely approach them one at a time, so they really aren't
anything to worry about. A few characters attacking them for a turn or two
should do it. Hell Gaia can teleport around the map and probably will as soon
as his SP reaches 500, allowing him to use his best special. He will focus his
attacks on a single character and as long as it isn't Diaz, everything will be
fine. There is an HP Boost point that will heal the entire party (it swirls a
little more than the others), near where Hell Gaia started. Place Diaz on this
to help with healing a little bit, and have him use Alert on his turns. Make
sure he has a healing spell equipped, though, in case he needs to heal
himself. A level 4 Battle Formation will take out most of Hell Gaia's HP, so
just finish him off with regular attacks and specials. You also might want to
place one of your characters on other HP Boost points near him, so he can't
use it to heal himself, and undo your hard work.

You're probably way over powered for this by now. First of all, there are two
Geo Points in the area, use them how you like. Azerea and Iceberg will retreat
when her HP gets down to half. Get two attackers by her, with Diaz and Eunice
behind them for healing/support. After she retreats, end a characters turn on
one of the red squares she and Iceberg were standing on. This is when the
actual battle begins; a swarm of enemies and generals appear behind you.
This should be fairly easy. Only a couple enemies will approach you at once
and none are notably strong. Just keep your party together so one person
doesn't get ganged up on. Have Diaz make a Geo Point slightly behind the fight
so he's automatically healed each turn. When he doesn't need to heal anyone
have him use his alert skill to increase the FP gauge so you can clear out the
enemies faster.

path from afar. Keep your party in this central area; both Rato and Rimm will
approach, along with their troops, at the same time. Kill the enemies when
they get near, and wait for the rest of them to approach. Once they're dead,
move up either side of the map. When your party gets near the chests, Blue
Moon, knights, and priests will spawn near the center chest. Folt, Tina,
Anita, and Kiratt will all fully recharge their SP and HP after being attacked
a few times, so focus on taking them down one at a time instead of several at
once.

your FG faster and thin out the birdmen quick. This is important since the
area is so small the birdmen are bound to hit two of your party members at
once. If you can use a Battle Formation go ahead and use it on Juahgra,
combined with combos to finish him off, if need be.

Start working on the nearby group of enemies, including Chris. After a certain
number of them have been defeated, Luche will retreat. Cross over the stream
instead of heading towards Radui. If you have a lot of long range characters,
try to block the enemies off in the middle of the stream so only two of them
can attack at a time, excluding archers. Luche will return with reinforcements
after several more enemies have been defeated. Approach this large group of
enemies slowly and try to draw a few of them to you; they are mostly long
range and can kill one of your party members in a turn if the all attack the
same person. Use a Battle Formation on Radui to defeat him quickly when he's
near.

Your party's morale will decrease by 25 at the start of the battle. This is
going to be a very long and difficult fight. Your party should be at least
level 25 and have at least level 5 weapons (6 or 7 for Diaz.) The very worst
thing that can happen here is getting blocked off by enemies in the narrow
paths between the 'hills.' Leave the Steal Bugs for last (they won't come
after you and it's a waste of turns at this point.) Instead, move half your
party around either the left or right side of the hill. This way they won't be
trapped in the narrow path and potentially have their turns wasted.
Battle Formations will be very important here. You will undoubtedly be
surrounded by generals, resulting in horrible situations; Battle Formations
can make all the difference during those times. There is also a HP Boost
point. It will heal all party members, but it is located near Malimar and Nyan.

Make your way to the generals, building up the Rage Meter as you go. The
generals will not move until you get very close to them. When you finally
reach them a short dialogue sequence will occur. After the scene, six Dark
Knights and Break will appear on the side of the rock wall opposite of your
starting point. Ignore Gigas and Camisia for now if you have allies anywhere
near Break and the knights; they most likely will not attack for a few more
turns if you move away from them now. Position Diaz on the green FG Boost
Point on the left side of map to help take out the knights as fast as
possible. You should have a pretty high level Rage Meter by now, so use it on
Break. If Gigas and Camisia attack you during this time, send a few people
over to get rid of them. Camisia has a healing spell so work on her first.

of it. Kill the zombies there; the zombies from the other side of the walkway
should be near you by the time you're finished with the group on the first
side. Camisia, Gigas, sorcerers, and warriors spawn at some point during the
battle, right next to Break, so be careful when your party members are in that
area, and do NOT have anyone there by themselves. Focus on Camisia and the
sorcerers when they arrive since they have ranged attacks and can get to Diaz
easier. Also, save up your FG so you can use Team Work if you end up in a bad
situation.

Begina, Diaz - Definitely bring your highest level party members.
Strategy:
Do not attempt this mission until you are around level 37 and have good
equiptment. Wait where you start for now and have Diaz raise Begina and
Culcha's SP and also use his Alert skill to boost the Friend Gauge during this
time; Hiro, riflemen, and soldiers spawn nearby on turn 2. Hiro and her troops
will advance towards you on their next turns. Immediately go for Hiro with
your strongest attackers and magic because she can slaughter you party fast.
She will leave when you get her down to about half health, which, fortunately,
can be done fairly quickly. When the Monks come down from the hill, target
them first because they can heal the other enemies, undoing your work. Unleash
Battle Formation on one of the three remaining generals and immediately begin
building a second Battle Formation. The rest shouldn't be too hard, just make
sure a healer is in range of every ally. If you are having a lot of trouble
with this, try upgrading your weapons on leveling up a level or two.

First of all, Ludora, along with several Dm Soldiers, spawn after all of the
inital enemies have been whiped out. You may remember fighting Dm Soldiers
before in the Rare Materials 1 Find Work Mission. They are very strong for a
regular enemy (and questionably agile.) Just be sure to have the best HP and
STM boosting equiptment on your characters. You'll have to make your way
through the enemies in a counter-clockwise circle. The first group has two
generals, but they are easy enough; just focus on one general at a time. The
next groups all have enemies with ranged attacks so be careful when advancing
your characters from this point on. Also, avoid keeping your characters in a
clump, or they can all be blinded by the sorcerers. So, when they are all
dead, Ludora and six Dm Soldiers spawn by the cave area in the North. I found
the Dm Soldiers more of a threat than Ludora could ever hope to be, so
definitely take them out first. Spells that heal multiple allies at once can
be very helpful here.

Strategy:
Equiping Diaz with a healing spell such as Green Blessing will help you a lot
in this battle as long as you keep your allies nearby so they will all be in
range. Begin moving your characters to the slew of generals ahead of you.
Focus on one at a time, and have the characters who can't reach the general
work on the surrounding riflemen and soldiers. Always take advantage of
characters who can attack more than one enemy at once, such as Culcha, when
the opportunity presents itself. Hiro should be the main priority here. Simba
and Salty will appear on turn four, on the drawbridge. At this point, the
victory conditions will change; you have to finish by turn 20. This shouldn't
be an issue, but you won't be able to take your time. As you make your way
towards Simba, stop your characters near them and wait for the enemies to
approach, as long as you are still out of range. When you have a maxed Battle
Formation, use it on Simba; it will likely take him out instantly. Use Team
Work as much as you can to clear out the rest of the enemies, focusing on the
riflemen if you haven't already defeated them.
(Note: I randomly received a Soul - Prana item during the battle (not after
killing an enemy, breaking a box, or opening a chest.) It's the only one I've
seen so far, so I thought it was worth mentioning. It allows you to create the
Chalcedony accessory.)

Luckily, this is a much easier battle than the first part. A sad pair of
ninjas will likely rush at you on their first turns. Take them out, then move
towards a couple riflemen, then to Hiro and the enemies surrounding her. As
always, focus on Hiro first, as she can damage you much more than her Foot
Soldiers can. When you are finished with this group, there shoul only be a
clump of generals, including Simba, in the top left corner of the map. A
Crescent Edge/Goblins Heaven/Battle Formation works great here for taking out
one of them right away. Use the Battle Formation on whichever general has the
most HP left. If the enemies are in their original positions, however, you
will not be able to use the Battle Formation on Simba. Focus on one or two of
the remaining generals (preferably Simba) until Muromachi is completely
destroyed.

In general, this is a pretty easy battle. Defeat the approaching general and
knights, then carefuly make your way to the large group of archers on the
right. You will need to kill the archers quickly so they don't all team up on
one party member. Cassius's Gaia Spear should do a fair amount of damage to
them. Don't bother removing poison from your allies if they are inflicted with
it; Diaz's turns are better spent using a Special such as Green Blessing and
using his Alert skill. Move towards the group to the left; make the Holy
Knights the top priority for now. They will heal themselves and eachother any
chance they get, making them a little annoying to deal with. The group of
three generals and angels should be all that is left. The angel's hard attacks
will knock your party members to the ground, so work on them before moving up
to the three generals. As for the generals, unleash a high level Battle
Formation to take care of one of them. All three have relatively low HP, so a
turn or two of physical attacks should do the trick.

Another easy one; there are only four groups of enemies here, and most of the
generals have fairly low HP. Move your party to the nearest group. The group
to the left will advance and attack you simultaneously, but you should be able
to kill most of the enemies in the first group before the second gets near
you. Spend this time maxing out the Rage Meter, then move forward to the last
two groups. Once again, the Holy Knights are extremely annoying, so try to
take out most of them before working on the two generals. If you happen to
have a maxed Rage Meter, use it on Guriza. Finishing off the rest of the
enemies won't be hard, but can take more turns than necessary because of the
Holy Knights constantly healing themselves.

defeated before Ryuhein and Chicol make it to you, or the mission will get a
lot harder. Ram Ban Ban into the wall with characters that have knockback hard
attacks. Unleash a Battle Formation on Ryuhein when he gets near enough, then
finish him off with a few regular attacks, if needed.

The narrow and unlevel map can make this mission difficult. Having long range
characters, such as archers and mages, can greatly increase the amount of time
it takes to complete the mission. Also, Light magic does double the damage to
Jadou/Neo Jadou, so bring a character that has a light spell like Grand Cross -
Eunice is perfect for this, if you've been using her. Do not split your party
up in the beginning; instead, move everyone to one side. Diaz should
definitely have a healing spell that will heal the whole party for this
mission. Jadou has the Parry 5 accessory equiped, so make sure Little Snow is
defeated before working on him, as she will just heal him. A level 4 Battle
Formation should be enough to take out Jadou, but he will transform into Neo
Jadou after he has been defeated. This is where light magic spells come into
play; Grand Cross should do around 1200 damage everytime, so Neo Jadou can be
taken out fairly quickly.

defeated. They are more split up than the previous two groups, so they won't
be a problem. A last group spawns near the treasure chests; they are clumped
together, and using a spell that can target most or all of them is ideal so
they will already be weakened when your party reaches them. If you decide to
finish the mission by reaching the destination point, it is located at the end
of the little stream.

enemies and then the second group. Either way, kill the Dm Soldiers so you
don't risk party members dying. I recommend to loot at least some of the
chests, though, as you can find some harder to find items.

Frequently Asked Questions (SFAQ)

Q. Why didn't I get the same item/reward as the FAQ says?
A. I believe a large majority of chest items are random, but with better
chances of obtaining harder to find materials on higher level missions. As for
missions, I believe only the materials obtained to be random; equiptment is
not, but may vary depending on the rank you received. I list these items for
two reasons: my own personal reference, so I can double check on subsequent
play-throughs, and for the reader's reference, in case anyone wants to know
what kind of items to expect from a mission.
Q. What am I supposed to do? There are only Find Work missions available, but
no story missions.
A. Usually destroying another kingdom will advance the story, but if it's not
coming up, even if the kingdom's military power is extremely low, work on
other Find Work missions until it triggers.
Q. Can I replay a mission if a missed a recruitable character?
A. No, you cannot replay the missions, this is why it is important to keep
multiple save files. If you plan on playing through the game a second time to
get Jadou, then don't worry about it all all; you'll have to recruit everyone
again anyway.
Q. Can I get all the characters in a single playthough?
A. No, Jadou can only be recruited during the second play-through as well as
either Break or Al as far as I know.
Q. How do I recruit Al and Break?
A. I'm not sure if this can actually be done in one playthrough. Each of them
requires their own kingdom to be destroyed, and also requires that another
kingdom must still exist. The only problem is that the missions to get the
characters are only available when you can take Level 7 missions; at this
point in the game only two kingdoms will be left, leaving you with the choice
of recruiting either Al or Break. You can pick up the other character on New
Game+, anyway. Read the question below for a possible way to get both
characters in one playthrough.
Q. Which order should I destroy the kingdoms in to maximize the amount of
recruitable characters I can get?
A. It should be something like this:
Elf Alliance - New Muromachi - Meimai Knights - Epsiloia Knights -
Shilineeg - Underworld Army - Nameless Army - Overlord Army. This will leave
only the Army of Flauster, which doesn't have any recruitable characters. If
the Army of Flauster is destroyed, then leave Shilineeg at the end.
Q. What's New Game +?
A. New Game + lets you replay the game with all the money and items you had
before. However, you do not keep the levels and characters you recruited.
Jadou can only be recruited on New Game +.
