1. Introduction
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Welcome to the Feeding Frenzy strategy guide. Though Feeding Frenzy is a basic
game that can be downloaded in the Xbox arcade, I feel there is enough to this
game that warrants a strategy guide. In this guide, you will learn everything
that there is to know about the game. By the time you are done reading this
guide, you should be able to unlock all 12 achievements, finish the time trial
mode, and obtain any rank you want on the leaderboard. Enjoy the small, but in-
depth guide on this game. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at
gromzzz@gmail.com. Enjoy!

2. About the Author (Gromzzz)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Now that you are about to read my Feeding Frenzy guide, I figured it would be
beneficial to know who the author is before reading on. First and foremost, you
can call me Gromzzz. My gamertag on Xbox 360 is Gromzzz and I am currently in
the midst of playing Top Spin 2 and MLB 2K6 online. I wrote strategy
guides and reviews for the last seven years. I worked for some major videogame
websites and decided to get out of the industry a few years ago. Being a college
student at the time (YES, how lucky was I to freelance for major videogame
websites as a high school student!) I felt that I lost my gaming touch. I'm a
huge sports fanatic, and I felt that the yearly dosage of same name games were a
bit boring. After my brother convinced me to get a Xbox 360, I fell back in love
with videogames. Xbox Live has brought back all the gaming love I had when I
started writing strategy guides back when Dreamcast was the hottest system
around. Now that I'm about to graduate college in a year with a Business
Administration degree, I believe it's beneficial for me to get back into writing
guides. Expect to see my name on every major sports title that hits Xbox 360.
Being experienced in the gaming industry, I know that criticism is my best
friend. If I get e-mails over and over again saying my guide is wonderful, my
strategy guide writing skills will not improve. Please let me know how you feel
about my guide and make sure to e-mail me your true thoughts. Also, as you may
know, I'm a poor college student. Feel free to donate to my paypal account at:
gromzzz@gmail.com if you found this guide to be useful. Most guides nowadays go
for $20.00 at your local videogame store, and I believe my guides are a lot more
in-depth. Enjoy reading the guide and again, please let me know how you feel
about my work. Thanks!

3. Update History
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
April 30th 2006 (Version 0.1) - No better way to end the month of April with the
first version of this strategy guide. Enjoy it, and if you have any questions or
suggestions, please e-mail me at gromzzz@gmail.com. Thanks!

4. Controls
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The controls in Feeding Frenzy are very simple.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Controls
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Left Trigger Fish Dash
Right Trigger Fish Special Ability
Left Stick Move Fish
Right Stick Move Fish
START Pause
A Fish Dash
X Fish Special Ability

A Fish Dash is simply when your fish lunges out to eat other fish. You can
simply eat fish by moving the analog stick towards them.

The Fish Special Ability is when your fish sucks in a ton of water that sucks
everything towards your fish. This can be very useful when dealing with groups
of fish in a specific area.

5. Time Attack/Normal Mode Walkthrough
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This is the most in-depth part of the strategy guide. Here I explain every event
and exactly what you have to do in order to complete the event. If you are
having any problems with any level, make sure to read through this walkthrough.
Also, there is a simple, yet effective rating key on how hard each level is. Use
it to your advantage during time attack mode.

Rating Key:

1 Star = Very easy level, should be no problem.
2 Stars = Mediocre level, a death here and there.
3 Stars = Watch out, you?re in trouble.

Stage 1: Small Fish, Small Pond
Slogan: Where the fish are small and the minnows are crunchy!
Description: Meet Andy the Angel Fish. Use your controller to move Andy
through the dangerous waters ahead.
How to Play: Eat fish that are smaller than you. Avoid fish that are
bigger than you. Eat enough fish and you'll grow in size.
Personal Strategy: This level could not be any easier. You start out with a
minute and ten seconds and you should easily finish in time. A normal score for
this level is around 3,000 points. When I played I killed 48 small fish, 24
yellow fish, and 5 of the green.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 2: Feeding Frenzy!
Slogan: Bonus Stage!
Description: You've came across a school of minnows, and there are no
predators in sight. Can you eat all the fish before the timer runs out?
How to Play: THE FRENZY METER: Fill up your Frenzy Meter by eating fish
quickly. When your Frenzy Meter is full, you earn double the points for
everything you eat! To keep it full, keep eating!
Personal Strategy: You have 45 seconds to complete this level. There are 38 fish
to eat and it should take you less than 25 seconds to complete this level. This
is a very easy level due to the fact that there are no predators that can eat
you.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 3: Bubble Bubble
Slogan: A starfish a day keeps low scores away!
Description: Rumor has it that some tough customers live on this side of
the reef. Watch out for the Lion Fish that can chase you down!
How to Play: Starfish bubbles don't help you grow, but they're worth a lot
of points. Plus, they won't bite back!
Personal Strategy: This is a very easy stage that should be completed in no
time. I killed 59 small fish, 14 yellow fish, and 5 green fish in this mission.
I also collected 9 time clocks which gave me plenty of time to complete the
mission.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 4: Hidden Treasures
Slogan: Clam up!
Description: The oysters here on the ocean floor are busy making pearls.
Swoop in and eat the pearls for extra points! If you're lucky you may find other
treasures inside as well. But, be careful, the oysters might snap shut and eat
you instead!
How to Play: FISH DASH ATTACK; For a quick burst of speed, press A.
Personal Strategy: At the start of this mission, I had 10,150 points and one
minute and ten seconds on the clock. This mission opens up a new feature to the
game. There are two clams on the bottom of the screen and they will open and
close periodically. Occasionally, inside you will find a white or black pearl
that you can swim over to and eat. These pearls give you additional points but
do not help in time. When eating the pearls, make sure to attack the pearl right
when the shell opens. If you wait to long, the shell will close on you, and you
will die. This mission is also very easy and should take little time. I killed
54 small fish, 18 yellow fish, and 1 red fish during this mission. I also
collected 14 clocks.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 5: School's Out!
Slogan: Time for a culinary field trip!
Description: Fish swim in schools for defense. Eat an entire school to
earn a special School Bonus that's worth a whopping 500 points!
How to Play: HINT: Remember to use your Fish Dash ability by pressing A!
It's a great way to catch quick-moving schools of fish.
Personal Strategy: At the start of this mission, I had 13,660 points and one
minute and forty five seconds on the clock. In this mission, there is only one
clam located on the left side of the screen. I recommend ignoring the clam and
practicing eating all the small fish in one quick gulp by pressing A which is
your fish dash ability. It took me a few tries to get use to it, but I earned a
ton of points with the school bonus that is awarded. I ate the small fish when I
was small, so you can accomplish this right from the start. At the end of the
mission, I ate 172 small fish, 16 yellow fish, and 5 green fish. I also
collected 23 clocks.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 6: Barracuda Alert
Slogan: Torpedoes with Teeth
Description: Rumor has it a deadly barracuda has been terrorizing this
part of the ocean! Watch for the early winning signs, and get out the way!
How to Play: FEELING LUCKY? Bite the barracuda's tail to score some extra
points. But, be careful, he just might bite back!
Personal Strategy: At the start of this mission, I had 26,405 points and one
minute and ten seconds on the clock. To tell you the complete truth, if you are
at this part of the game you are ready to move on and win the game. After this
level, it's not necessary for me to say my point or time total, because it's
irrelevant. Just make sure you get to Stage 6 with at least this much time on
the clock. I've played through time trial mode many times, and have had a lot
more time and points when I was at this level, but this is the minimum amount I
think is required to go on and win. Here this is one clam on the bottom of the
ocean floor. The only thing to watch out for in this level is the barracuda that
can eat you. You will see warning signs, and I suggest rising either to the top
or the bottom when you see the signs. This level should be a breeze. Feel free
to tail bite the barracuda if you want a few extra points.
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 7: Crazy Jellies!
Slogan: A la peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich!
Description: You've stumbled across a group of roaming jellyfish. They're
pretty to look at, but beware their sting! If you touch them, you'll be stunned
for a few seconds. And when you're stunned, you're a sitting duck!
How to Play: GOLDEN MINNOWS: If you spot a mysterious golden fish, try to
catch it! They're fast, but they'll help you grow much more quickly.
Personal Strategy: To be perfectly honest, I am starting to repeat myself over
and over with my strategy on the levels. There isn't much more strategy to offer
after Stage 7, so there is no point in referring to any more personal
strategies. If you need any additional help, read the "Personal Tips" section of
the guide.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 8: Jelly Jam
Slogan: Bonus Stage!
Description: Time for another bonus stage! There are a whole lot of
Starfish bubbles hidden in this giant group of jellies. How many can you eat
before the timer runs out?
How to Play: BONUS BUBBLES: Get the Score Multiplier bubbles to double the
points for everything you eat.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 9: Hear me Roar!
Slogan: Congratulations! Fish Upgrade!
Description: Meet Leon the Lion Fish. Leon is a little faster than Andy,
which makes him a tougher customer in these deeper waters.
How to Play: NEW ABILITY! Now you can suck in other fish! Press X to suck
in all the fish in front of you. It takes a few seconds to recharge, so use it
wisely.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 10: Gas Bag
Slogan: Beware the prickly Puffer Fish!
Description: This rocky reef is inhabited by prickly Puffer Fish. These
innocent-looking fish can inflate like balloons to protect themselves.
How to Play: PUFFER FISH: Don't try to eat an inflated Puffer Fish, no
matter how big you are. If you do, you'll bounce and lose some points. Try to be
patient!
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 11: Fish Soup
Slogan: Nothing like a nice bouillabaisse?
Description: It's like an all-you-can-eat minnow buffet here! Too bad the
other nearby predators have the same idea.
How to Play: NEW POWER-UP! Eat a Flash Bomb bubble to stun all the other
fish on the screen for a few seconds!
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 12: A Need for Speed
Slogan: Sometimes you need a little boost!
Description: The quick-moving schools of Angel Fish are hard to catch. Use
the Speed Boost bubbles to catch them before they can get away.
How to Play: NEW POWER-UP! Chow down on a Speed Boost bubble for some
serious speed. The boost indicator at the top right will flash as the effect
starts to wear off.
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 13: Fish in a Barrel!
Slogan: How many can you get?
Description: Another bonus stage! These Angel Fish are moving really fast!
Can you eat them all before time runs out? Use the Speed Boost bubbles to help
you!
How to Play: HINT: Use the Speed boost bubble plus the Fish Dash ability
(press A) to chase down quick-moving fish.
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 14: Boom!
Slogan: Those pesky humans are dropping stuff on us!
Description: Watch out! These waters are filling up with deadly mines that
will explode if you swim too close!
How to Play: HINT: If you're careful, you can hide behind a mine to
protect yourself from a predator that's chasing you.
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 15: Don't Eat the Green Fish!
Slogan: Kids' never feed your fish uranium!
Description: Some of those poor minnows have eaten hazardous waste,
turning them into poisonous mutants! They may look tasty, but don't eat the
green fish!
How to Play: WATCH OUT FOR MUTANT FISH! Avoid the bright green fish. If
you eat one you'll become disoriented! To recover, rapidly tap A until you
return to normal.
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 16: Watch What You Eat!
Slogan: Bonus Stage!
Description: It's another Feeding Frenzy bonus stage! There are lots of
fish to eat, but watch out for the sea mines and the poisonous mutant minnows.
How to Play: HINT: If you get eaten or killed on a bonus stage, it doesn't
cost you a life. So, take some chances and try to clear the stage before the
timer runs out. Good luck!
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

Stage 17: What's the Angle?
Slogan: Congratulations! Fish Upgrade!

slower, but he has a big bite! Don't forget to press A to suck in schools of
fish.
How to Play: NEW POWER-UP! Pick up the Fury bubble and go nuts! You'll zip
around the screen eating everything in sight!

Stage 18: Tricky Treasure
Slogan: Clam up!
Description: The oysters in this part of the reef don't stay open very
long. If you're trying to steal their precious treasure you'll have to move
fast!
How to Play: BLACK PEARLS: The mysterious Black Pearl is five times more
valuable than an ordinary white pearl. That will help you grow pretty quickly!
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 19: Six Degrees
Slogan: Who's obtuse?
Description: The ocean seems to be getting more crowded, and these mines
don't help one bit. Be careful out there!
How to Play: HINT: The suck ability is especially helpful for Eddie
because he's slow. Park yourself near a tasty school of fish, and then take a
deep breath!
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 20: A Shell Game

Get in, get out, and nobody gets hurt!
Level Rating: 1 Star (*)

you're big enough for a yummy surgeon fish feast!
How to Play: OVERCHARGING SURGEONS: Be especially careful when you're near

Slogan: One big, happy ecosystem

Stage 26: More Mutant Madness
Slogan: The alliteration never ends?

reached the vast, open water. It's beautiful out here, but deadly, too. This is
the home of the great white shark!

poisonous mutants. Be careful, or you just might end up that way too!
How to Play: JELLYFISH ARE FRIENDS? Jellyfish pack a mean sting, but they
can be useful. Hide behind them and use them to shield you from predators. Their
sting affects even the biggest fish!
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Stage 36: Barracuda Buffet
Slogan: Bonus Stage!
Description: Remember all the trouble those barracuda gave you back in the
reef? Well, it's payback time. A school of barracuda sounds like a Bonus Stage
snack, doesn't it?
How to Play: HINT: Grab a Feeding Fury bubble to chow down and save some
precious time. You get bonus points for any time left over at the end of a Bonus
Stage.
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

be getting close to the Shark King's lair! Keep going! You're almost there!

behinds mines for protection.
Level Rating: 2 Stars (**)

Slogan: No place for a casual swim?
Description: Shark Reef is home to the nastiest, toughest sharks in the
ocean. Can you help them clean up their act?
Level Rating: 3 Stars (***)

6. Personal Tips
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Feeding Frenzy is a game that can be beaten in a day or so. The problem that
many people have with the Time Trial mode is that they get worried about the
time remaining which causes them to get a bit jittery. With that said, I find it
best to move your fish as slow as possible. I tend to stay in the middle of the
screen, so I can see sharks or bigger fish from a distance. By staying in the
middle of the screen, I find it easier to maneuver in dangerous situations.
Also, I always go for pearls, no matter the situation. Before going for the
pearl though, I make sure I witnessed the clam open. If I didn't see the clam
open, I will not go after the pearl inside. Another strategy I use is I avoid
using my fish's special ability. I find it to do more harm than good in
situations. The only reason I would ever use the special ability is to gulp up a
large group of minnows for the school bonus. Even when I encounter that, I
usually gulp them up by pressing "A" instead. There isn't much else I can tell
you about how I play the game. Slow and steady wins the race in my opinion, and
I believe everyone can finish the Time Attack! Mode with little trouble.

7. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Having trouble with obtaining the achievements? Have a question that you can't
find anywhere else in the guide? Well, you're at the right spot!

Question: How in the world do you get the 1,000 shark achievement?
Answer: The best way to get the 1,000 shark eaten achievement is to go on
Normal Mode and move right to Level 37. Use all your lives on that level right
before you are going to die. Eat the sharks over and over and after awhile
you'll have the achievement.

Question: Why level 37, why not level 40?
Answer: Level 37 is by far the easiest level with the most sharks. For
some odd reason, Level 40 will not count for your shark total.

Question: How do I earn the 300,000 point achievement?
Answer: Simply go through Normal Mode tail biting. Though this may be a
bit lame, if you tail bite over and over you should have the achievement in no
time.

Question: What is tail biting?
Answer: When you see the warning sign of a big fish coming to eat you,
simply swim behind him and bite his tail. Do this over and over and you will
earn points at a very quick rate. If you keep tail biting the same fish, your
points will multiply. This is essential in order to rack up points quickly.

Question: Whoa...40,000 points in the food bank? Is that in one sitting?
Answer: Sadly, Time Attack mode does not count in the food bank, so you
must focus all your attention in Normal Mode. The best level to gather up the
most fish is level 21. The score is cumulative, so feel free to turn off the
game and continue this long achievement at a later time.

Question: The 10 hour achievement. Is that in one sitting?
Answer: No, you can turn off your Xbox at anytime and it will still
remember how long you've played the game. If you want to cheat on this
achievement, simply finish a level and leave the controller sitting there. Do
not press anything. This will get the achievement for you. Do not press "Start"
though, or you won't get credit.

Question: How do you get the Frenzy Fanatic Achievement?
Answer: Simply have around 9,000 fish in your food bank and you will be
rewarded with this achievement.

Question: Do you use your special ability a lot?
Answer: No, I find it pointless.

Question: Where can I get this game?
Answer: In the Xbox 360 arcade.

Question: I like the demo, can I unlock achievements while playing the demo?
Answer: No, you need the full version to unlock the achievements.

Question: Thanks for the guide. Is there any way I can donate to you?
Answer: Yes, simply paypal gromzzz@gmail.com for any donations. I would
really appreciate it.

I hope this answers every question you may have about Feeding Frenzy. If you

9. Fun Facts
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
There are a few fun facts that pop up during the game. Here I have listed the
Fun Facts that I have encountered while playing the game.

Fun Fact: Barracudas often hunt in packs and can be found in schools of
several thousand.

Fun Fact: Divers near a coral reef often hear a loud crackling noise.
It is the sound of thousands of tiny snapping shrimps, hidden in crevices on the
reef.

Fun Fact: In Time Attack mode, you have unlimited lives but there is a
time limit. The time left rolls over to the next stage so try to finish quickly
to build up a time!

Fun Fact: Starfish don't use muscles to move their hundreds of tiny
suckers; instead, they have a complex hydraulic system with an intake valve for
water near their middle.
