1. Introduction
#############################
This guise was created to help players use Yoshihiro Shimazu, who 
is far fromthe easiest character to use. For all of his range 
and wide swings, he has a fewmajor weaknesses, such as being 
able to block in the middle of his attack string. Hopefully, 
however, this guide will be able to make you enjoy and use Yoshihiro
even despite these weaknesses.

Character Biography
#############################
Shimazu Yoshihiro (????; August 21, 1535-August 30, 1619) was 
the second son of Shimazu Takahisa and younger brother of 
Shimazu Yoshihisa. It had traditionally been believed that 
he became the seventeenth head of the Shimazu clan after Yoshihisa, 
but it is currently believed that he let Yoshihisa keep his position.

He was a skilled general and the victory against Ito clan 
at the battle of Kigasakihara on 1572 is counted as one 
of his many victories. He contributed greatly to the 
unification of Kyushu. On 1587, facing Toyotomi Hideyoshi's 
troops that seeked to pacify Kyushu, Yoshihiro pressed for a 
war even after his brother and the head of clan Yoshihisa 
surrendered. After Yoshihisa repeatedly asked for the surrender,
Yoshihiro finally did surrender. After Yoshihisa became a Buddhist
monk, it had been believed that he became the head 
of the clan but the real power remained in Yoshihisa's hands.

He had been a willing and a skillful general for Hideyoshi. 
On both 1592 and 1597 of the Seven-Year War, Yoshihiro set 
his foot on the Korean peninsula and successfully carried 
out a series of battles. On 1597, working together with 
Todo Takatora, Kato Yoshiaki and Konishi Yukinaga, Yoshihiro
defeated Won Kyun's navy, killing the commander Won Kyun in 
the battle. At the battle of Sacheon (??) in 1598, facing 
Ming army counting 37,000, Yoshihiro defeated them with 
only 7,000 soldiers and killed several thousands in the battle.
Shimazu troop under Yoshihiro was called "Oni-Shimazu(????)" by Ming.
On the final battle of the war, the Battle of Noryang, Yoshihiro's
fleet of 500ships was completely routed by the combined Ming/Joseon
navy under Chen Lin and Yi Sun-Sin. By the end of the battle, 
200 Japanese vessels had been lost, resulting in one of Yoshihiro's 
greatest losses in this Korean campaign.

For the Battle of Sekigahara on 1600, Yoshihiro was 
supposed to take the side of Tokugawa Ieyasu, but he crushed 
against Torii Mototada on arriving for a rescue at Fushimi Castle 
and after being humiliated, took the side of Ishida Mitsunari instead.
Yet Yoshihiro could not get along with Mitsunari as well, who did not 
listen to any of Yoshihiro's plan including surprise night attack on 
the day before the actual battle. On the day of the battle, 
Yoshihiro and his troop of 1500 simply held ground and did not 
fight at all. After the rest of Mitsunari's side was wiped out, 
Yoshihiro was stranded in at least 30,000 of Ieyasu's troop. 
Vastly outnumbered, Yoshihiro tried to make a charge against Ieyasu 
himself but after Shimazu Toyohisa demanded that he not kill himself
over a meaningless battle, Yoshihiro instead chose to charge 
straight through Ieyasu's troop to make an exit at the other side. 
By having his troop make a fighting retreat called Sutegakari 
where until certain number of men died holding a position and 
repelling an attack,
the main body of army fought as well. Toyohisa and the bulk 
of troop died, but the charge and the retreat was a success and fatally 
wounded Ii Naomasa. After beating back the chase, he picked up 
his wife at Sumiyoshi of Settsu Province and returned to Satsuma Province 
by ships.

After recognizing why and how Yoshihiro behaved on the battle field,
Ieyasu had Shimazu clan retain its domain and let Yoshihiro's son 
Shimazu Tadatsune succeed him. Yoshihiro retired to Sakurajima 
and took up teaching younger generations. He died on 1619 and 
several of his retainers who had fought along him followed 
him by committing suicide.

Yoshihiro was essential to the Shimazu clan and both Ieyasu 
and Hideyoshi tried to divide the clan by treating Yoshihiro well,
but treating the elder brother Yoshihisa badly, which did not succeed.

He was a devoted Buddhist, and built a monument for 
enemy troops during the Seven-Year War.

Unlocking Yoshihiro
#############################

To unlock Yoshihiro Shimazu, simply complete the game with 
Ginchiyo Tachibana.



#############################
Moveset
#############################

Yoshihiro uses a normal type moveset.

I will use a style similar to most Dynasty Warriors FAQs to describe 
the moveset- for example, C1 is 
your first charge attack, and C2 is the uppercut attack, used with 
the normal attack, then the charge attack
button.

C1- Yoshihiro raises his mace over his head, and brings it 
    crashing down, doing a stomp attack. Not the best C1, but
    far from the worst. It can also be used to uncover Sky Ninja 
    underground, and can damage enemies on the floor, 
    laying. This does a lot more damage than your jump charge, 
    but takes longer to do. Try to time it before they hit 
    the ground.

C2- Yoshihiro swings once, then swings mightily, knocking all 
    enemies high in the air. You shouldn't bother with this,
    As it hits fairly few people, and he swings just slow enough,
    you're not likely to juggle them regardless.

C3- Yoshihiro swings twice, then thrusts forward with the head of 
    his hammer. This move does quite the chunk of damage,
    however, it has a rather strange hitbox. If the enemy is too 
    close, the head of the mace will not hit them, but the shaft
    will, and the stun and damage will be missed. Use only 
    when you are certain to hit the foe.

C4- Yoshihiro swings three times, then pauses and whirls the mace 
    over his head, and round his body. This is probably Yoshihiro's
    best crowd clearing move when he starts, and one of the few 
    charge attacks that will nearly always hit a general. However,
    the extra attacks before other charge attacks mean it's 
    damage is not worth throwing the enemy far away. Don't use too much.

C5- Yoshihiro swings four times, then does a jumping spin, 
    anticlockwise, knocking all enemies hit up in the air. This is a
    very powerful move, and if you time your charge 1 after it, 
    can take a hefty chunk from your foes. However, it can be blocked
    by an enemy general, even if all previous attacks hit. 
    However, since he spins anticlockwise, if the enemy is slightly 
    to your right, it has less chance of being blocked, in my experience.

c6- Yoshihiro swings 5 times, then spins twice, clockwise, 
    stunning everybody he hits. This is another powerful move, yet, 
    like the previous spinning attack, can be blocked. 
    However, he swings in the opposite direction, so it will 
    hit enemies on the left quicker than those on the right.

C7- Yoshihiro swings 6 times, then rears back and 
    lunges at his enemy with his right fist. If he connects, 
    he will hurl the enemy into the air, then batter them 
    a good distance away. This is Yoshihiro's general killer, 
    in that the throw is unblockable. However, the enemy can roll away
    from it. Unlike some other throws, like Kenshin's, 
    Yoshihiro's does a fair amount of damage, and when the 
    enemy hits the floor after being hit,
    it will do a small stomp attack. Additionally, if you 
    hit any enemies woth the swing, but did not catch them,
    they too will do a small
    stomp when they land. This may be one of the few crowd 
    clearing throws. It also charges Shimazu's musou quite well.

C8- Yoshihiro swings 7 times, then does a jump, spin, and 
    brings down his mace hard on the floor, doing a large 
    radius stomp attack. This is Shimazu's
    crowd clearer, and does a hefty sum on generals too. 
    However, it is better suited to clearing away peons.


R1 stance

R1+normal- Yoshihiro raises his mace over his head and gains 
           a red aura about him, increasing his attack, but 
           lowering his defence. This allows him
           to do some scary damage, if your attacks 
           can connect. A maxed out Yoshihiro with this and 
           an attack times 2 can easily shred through anything.

R1+charge- Yoshihrio stomps and exclaims "Meet the Devil!".
           You can now run about, but any enemy you hit 
           will be trampled, as if by a horse. The damage is 
           fairly low, but it seems to charge your musou 
           fairly well, and clears your way if you need to 
           run to your horse. It's also amusing to kill enemy generals with.

Musou

Level 1- Shimazu stomps his mace to the floor, 
         dealing damage to all enemies in a radius about him.
Level 2- Shimazu stomps his mace to the floor, 
         dealing damage to all enemies in a radius about him. 
         More damaging than level 1.
Level 3- Shimazu stomps his mace to the floor, 
         dealing damage to all enemies in a radius about him, 
         while stomps start randomly appearing everywhere in front of Yoshihiro.
         The random stomps can damage floored opponents, 
         your stomps from the musou attack cannot.

True Musou- your current musou, but with the Fire element added. 
           Shimazu does an additional three stomps at the end, too.
Double musou-your current musou, but with the Lightning element added.
             Also an additional three stomps at the end.
Awakening 3 musou-your current musou, but with the Death Element added. 
             Also the additional 3 stomps at the end, too.

Obtaining Beast Crusher.

In the battle: Struggle at Sekigahara, you must 
complete all missions and defeat every enemy officer personally.

This is to defeat each of the 3 officers surrounding 
each ally, then the playable general Tokugawa sends after them. 
Your allies CANNOT be allowed to take an enemy officer. 
You should save Mitsunari first, then Sakon, then Ginchiyo.

For the record, here is the order I killed the enemy in,
and I did get the weapon.
