Devil May Cry 4
Question from wiredrocker
Asked on: 9/1 5:14PMOkay im a total devil may cry fan but i'm kinda curious. I've heard mixed reviews about it and was wondering if the gameplay was more along the lines of the awesome DEVIL MAY CRY 3 or if it is as crappy as DMC 2?(if you say yes, then is it worth the $29.99 price tag?)

statusIf you like the gameplay of DMC 3 you like DMC 4 especially if your a "total fan".
its a lot like DMC 3. nero takes a little getting used to but after u are, the game is awesome. I say its worth it.
The gameplay for DMC 2 is dreadful. DMC 1, 3, and 4 far exceed DMC 2 any day. The only thing that reviewers say is negative about DMC 4 (or the most common thing to say the least) is the backtracking. You fight through the first few levels with Nero, and then Dante goes back through those levels.
Nero is for newbies and the combat for Dante is still excellent. I suggest getting this game.
Totally Worth it
Definitely worth it

Absolutely worth it! I love the series with the exception of the disappointment that was DMC 2. The graphics on 4 are beautiful and the gameplay is very similar to 3. While I am a hardcore Dante fan, I appreciated playing as Nero as it adds even more variety to the combat styles. I bought 4 when it was still $59.99 and would do it again if the price hadn't dropped.
Okay, I've always liked devil may cry. The 2nd was terrible, yes. But this is the best game yet. I thought I would like number 3 out of all of them, but this sure beat it. Playing as Nero is great, and then after that you get the badass Dante into it. The storyline is amazing and the graphics are the best I've seen, even on Xbox. There are new styles, new people, and surprises at every turn. Go for it. By the way, it's only 19.99 now. (As far as I know considering I downloaded it to my hard drive.)
