How do I get 42 inventory slots?

I found all claptraps mentioned in message boards, still only have 39 slots. Already found a claptrap on 2nd playthough, didn't give the upgrade just an item. I assume the ones you've already found do this. Does any one know which one is missing from the message board?

Check your completed quest list with the locations of known claptrap locations they are listed as "Claptrap:" you will know which one you are missing. If you have all 10 then you are glitched.

Could you post a link to the particular board topic you used? Hard to say for sure otherwise. The most easy to miss are the ones in areas you're never specifically lead to, such as Crazy Earl's scrapyard or the one in Old Haven

if you used "Claptrap Locations - A definitive guide", then that's all 10 right there. you most likely missed one you thought you had already

I had same problem. I found the one I had missed on my 1st playthrough while on my 2nd playthrough, but it only gave me a grenade upgrade. I loaded my 1st playthrough back up, went back and picked it up, and it finally gave me the last backback upgrade.

Alot of people miss the other claptrap in old town. After you rescue the main claptrap from the cage to progress the main story line, another damaged claptrap spawns in a building. I am not sure if you found this one or not. But I myself missed it until I went back for some more loot. Just a FYI

Answer

If you miss a Claptrap on the 1st playthrough and rescue ones you did previously in your 2nd playthrough theres the possibility of getting a backpack increase. I was missing one increase after finishing my first game and the first claptrap I rescued in the 2nd playthrough upgraded my backpack, and yes I had rescued that one in the first game.

You must save Claptraps so they'll give you slot add-on.
