"Do we have to download the DLC"
DLC - Down Loadable Content

How else would you get downloadable content besides downloading it? If it came with the disc, it wouldn't be called DLC.

Answer

Well... I'm assuming if it came on a disc, it would be with the game itself... considering a piece of the DLC is free with new copies... considering there isn't a 2nd disc in the regular version or a 3rd disc in the CE then I would say... no, the DLC is not on a disc and yes we have to download it.

Blood dragon armor and the stone prisoner come with the game if you buy it ( might only get them with pre order ) then the wardens keep is available for download on xbox live on opening day

Answer

Blood Dragon Armour and the Stone prisoner are included with the purchase of Dragon Age (even without preordering). Inside the box is are redeemable codes that let you download them for free, but they are not on that actual disc, so yes, you do have to download them.

Answer

Actually many pieces of DLC from games are being released on Discs for those who want to buy it but do are not connected to Live, for instance the DLC Discs for Oblivion, Fallout and the Newly Released GTA one.

And also, content that you download does not have to be on the internet, you can Download Content from a Disc, DLC Content is the name given to it, doesn't mean that they only way to get it has to be downloading. With a game as big as this I think there will indeed be a disc at some point.

Answer

There doesnt have to be a CD, u gotta understand DLC is a huge revenue for a company... theres zero production cost, and huge profit. If they start making CDs, itll cost a hell of a lot more, and its a big cost for the company, especially if the majority of the owners downloaded it. i wouldnt count on it

Why should DownLoadable Content come on a disc? It it came on a disc, it would be called an expansion pack.

Answer

There are some games that do actually ship with extra content on the disk that you have to buy to "unlock". Soul Calibur IV comes to mind. So DLC is not necessarily downloaded from XBox Live. If the content is present on the disk, inputting the code would just unlock it. In this case however, you need to input the code and then download the content.

Answer

No, you have to download it. You get given a set of codes to unlock the Armor and Stone Prisoner, by entering them it enables you to download the Armor, which won't appear on the downloadable content menu if you don't have the code and makes the Stone Prisoner a free download. If you played Dragon Age: Journeys the items will be saved to your EA account and by logging into it in Origins the unlocks will also be added to the DLC menu.

The items are all around 1MB, whereas the Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner come in at around 190MB

Come on a disk like it should? What world are you living in. It's called Down Loadable Content for a reason, my guess is this is your first 360 game?

Answer

It's DLC - this is so that the people who buy the first few shipments of the game get the extras, but not the people who pick it up a half year later.

it has to be downloadable. They're only included with new purchases of the game. If it came on the disc, you would be able to get the DLC from a used disc too.

You have to download it, hence why it is Download Content. You get it through the game by logging into your EA account I believe. I have yet to download all of mine.

Answer

It is not on a disc, you have to actually download it. The reason Bioware is doing it this way is to create an incentive for buying the game "new." One of the biggest problems in the gaming industry today is the rampant increase in sale of used games (a la Gamestop). Remember, publishers make NO money from the sale of used games. You might as well have pirated the game, as far as it concerns Bioware. Forcing the player to purchase a new copy of the game if they want to get the free content helps boost "new game" sales.
