"Sonic the Hedgehog is the true sequel to Sonic Adventure 2"

With recent 3D Sonic games like Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, would Sonic's fifth 3D game be any better? The answer is yes. Sonic the Hedgehog for the Xbox 360 is by far one of the best new Sonic games ever released. You have three main characters; Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Silver the Hedgehog. Each get two amigo partners. Sonic gets Tails and Knuckles, big surprise, Shadow gets Rouge and Omega, big surprise, and Silver teams up with Amy and Blaze.

All three characters play differently despite them all being hedgehogs. Sonic is all about speed and I do mean speed. Shadow is more action based and Silver uses his physic powers to show off some very cool moves. The amigo characters also play different and they all take time to get use to and you will find someone you like to play as quickly.

Don't worry for the most part you play as Sonic, Shadow, and Silver through the main campaign. Sonic can reach Mach Speed where you run to the goal ring at speeds never before seen on any game. That's right so don't blink or you may run into your doom!

Let's begin the review now with Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic plays much like he was on Sonic Adventure 2 expect now you can have custom attacks (up to 7 different attacks) to occupy the right shoulder button. Still the camera gets in the way but not as bad as the Adventure stages. Sonic does have some bad stages because you have to escort Princess Elise around which sucks big time.

Sonic has the same speed you know and love from the Sonic Adventure series and even more then that because of the power of the Next-Gen consoles. Once you go into Mach Speed even just once you will know this game was worth the price just to play through those; bad part is there's only a few Mach Speed levels.

Now onto Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow came out with his own game which for the most part wasn't good. This time Shadow redeems himself with his story. Shadow does get vehicles yes but like Shadow the Hedgehog game you DON'T have to get in them so stop whinning. Shadow plays as good as he did in Sonic Adventure 2 expect now he has more power when you add the Chaos Boost and his awesome combos. No enemy can face off against Shadow.

Finally we have Silver the Hedgehog. Silver plays very differently then Sonic and Shadow because Silver isn't fast. Silver is physic and because of this he can lift cars, boxes, and even enemies up and use them as weapons. Silver can also stop missiles and fire them back at the enemy. Silver is a hedgehog from the future whose best friend is Blaze the Cat (from Sonic Rush) as they battle Iblis. Silver's levels are fun using your physic powers to blast through the stage.
