Hitman: Blood Money
Review by nflstreetfreak1
"Hitman: Worth the Money"
Let me start off by saying the only other Hitman game I enjoyed besides this game was Contracts. This game in my opinion far surpasses the standard set by Contracts. The mecahnics are basically the same, but with some improved visuals and added material, some for the better, some for the worst.
Graphics: 8
The graphics in Blood Money are good, but don't scream next-gen to me. The third person mode is very nice and detailed, but go into first person, and it's just as bad as first person used to be, and the guns look horrible, and I know it's not a FPS, but c'mon, a little bit nicer please. Another complaint I have about the graphics is the character doubles... and triples... and I can go on and on. I'm tired of killing the same guard 20 times, but the primary characters do indeed look nice. The level design was also pretty good.
Gameplay: 10
I loved the gameplay, and I had a blast. The controls are great and well suited for the game. It was fun dealing out the accidental deaths, especially by setting someone on fire with a barbecue becasue it teaches you how to deal with annoying neighbors... JK. I also enjoyed the newspapers that came up at the end of missions, they were interesting and change with every go through of that level.
Story: 8
Kill people and get paid... you're a hitman, what more do you want, backround information... why?
Sound: 9
The music fit the game very well, and came on when needed, but you mostly play in silence, which is the best way to be a hitman, silently.
Buy or Rent: Rent
Sure the game was a good one, but how many times can you kill the same guys before you get tired. The whole game can also be completed in a week or two, so stick with a rent unless you're a big Hitman fan.
Replay Value: Moderate
Certan levels keep their playability up for a long time, others wear off after the first playthrough, the level I find most enjoyable is A New Life, most hated and annoying (opinion), Murder of Crows.
Final Score: 8.75, but GFaqs only lets me put whole numbers, so round up.
