"Lost Planet : Extreme Boss Fights"

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a well rounded game. If you are expecting a huge storyline that of which rivals a JRPG or much single play re-playability such as a sandbox game would have, Lost Planet won't be your first game of 2007. Lost Planet, is that of an old 2d Arcade Shoot Em Up, turned 3d, with huge boss fights( and plenty of them).

Graphics: 9/10
What bad is there to say about the graphics in Lost Planet? Well nothing really, except that fact that Gears Of War is out. (And GeOW has kind of spoiled me.) From the great particle effects, to the excellent looking environments, Lost Planet is a wet dream for graphics whores everywhere. It also helps the core gameplay.

Gameplay: 8/10
The gameplay in Lost Planet, is without a doubt, great, but not perfect. For the most part, the on foot controls handle well, just as the Vital Suits do. The problem is during some conflicts between enemies, you can get stuck in a chain attack by the enemies, do to the sometimes un-cooperating controls. On the plus side, there are 3 different button set ups, and 3 different aiming setups which is enough to please most of the gaming world.

Audio: 9/10
The ingame audio is great, and it adds a good atmosphere to the already great looking environments.

Multiplayer: 9/10
Once your finished with the decent length story mode (varies from 7-10 hours, I finished mine in 8 and a half) You can hop on in, to the online extravaganza of Lost Planet. Full 16 player support makes for some crazy fun battles with friends or just random strangers. The maps' environments vary, which is good, because although the snow is beautiful, no one wants to look at it all the time. Theres 4 basic multiplayer set ups, Post Grab, Fugitive, Team Elimination, and Elimination and some customability options to make the games vary themselves. The elimination type games, are your standard deathmatch type games, yet they vary due to the energy gauge. Which makes for an interesting new gameplay mechanic for multiplayer. So overall the multiplayer is stellar, and it will keep you occupied for a while in 07.

Overall Lost Planet is a stellar game and it has what any fan of sci fi shoot em ups wants. The game is definitely worth 60 bucks, and there will be no regrets once the purchase is done.
