NBA Live 07

"One of the worst sports games to come out in a while"
As I always state before reviewing a sports title I always mention how I am not a fan of sports titles. I actually played NBA 2K7 recently and I felt that after playing NBA Live 07 I had to write this review.
Graphic wise I must say things were a bit smoother looking. Not great and the character models look really under detailed. The court looked good but the audience was not as impressive as what 2k7 produced.
The sound in the game was iffy. The announcer kept repeating themselves over and over. I would seriously hear the guy say something, next guy would say something and then original guy would repeat his same line again. That is just poor programming. The music in the game is your typical EA Sports crap so whatever.
This game has some of the worst controls in a long time. I don't know what one expects from a sports game but why is defense set to the right stick and which is shoot on B which seems weird as it would normally be on X. This screwed me up for the longest time and I couldn't figure out why I was always missing every shot. Once I figured out what the correct button to use was, I realized the game really didn't like me and would randomly not accept my button presses.
As far as game play goes, it's your typical fare. All of the common modes are here. Dynasty and all that stuff. It works the same as usual. There actually weren't any surprises. Also, I hate the way the main menu is set up. Just terrible and bland.
The AI in the game was pretty h-hum. My team mates seemed to have the processing capabilities of a NES. There were times that I swear they just stood there and stared at the net and did nothing while the other team came barreling at them.
Too be honest I didn't dabble much with the off-line content. For once I messed with the on-line stuff. Sadly it was the worst LIVE experience I've ever had. Besides the load times, which are horrible in both on and off-line matches, the game suffers from lag. Not just little bits of lag here and there. Lag so bad and constant that I thought my characters were having seizures. I know you're thinking it couldn't be that bad but wow, it made it almost unplayable. I would suddenly be out of bounds and have no clue how or why because my character was never even close to it.
Would I recommend LIVE? God no and after playing this I can see why EA had to convince people to play to have 1000 people on-line at once. Hell, I'm surprised that many people owned the game. Sadly I didn't have the game at that time but that's okay because I'll live and will never pick this game up again. I would recommend 2K7 over this game any day of the week and this is by far one of the worst sports titles I have played in a long time and it's also one of the worst 360 games to date. Heck, this game also has some of the most absurd achievements. Have four people playing on one console. Have 1000 people on-line when you sign on. Seriously, those suck.
