"A Decent Shooter But Nothing Special."

This is my very first review so please bear with me if it is disorganized or I forgot something important. I've been so bored for the past couple of months, and I've been desperately looking for a hobby.

Call of Duty 3

The second I heard this game was coming out, I was shocked because the release was rather quick as Call of Duty 2 came out just a short while before. I will list a score of 1 to ten next to each of the six categories for shooters of graphics, sound, controls, and entertainment, replay value, and multiplayer. Well, where do I begin with this game?

Graphics (8):
The graphics for this game are nothing special but there are some improvements from the last game in explosions, smoke, and dust. The models are pretty good. The backgrounds are excellent and really make you feel like you are in a destroyed European city or African desert. You won't find the graphics ground breaking but they should be satisfactory.

Sound (7): All the normal sounds you would expect from a World War II shooter: people shouting "Grenade!!" , planes flying over head, explosions, the "Ping" sound of an empty Garrand clip hitting the ground. Nothing special here quite honestly. My only complaint is that the dialogue is cheesy and the things the characters say are repeated too often.

Controls (7): I thought they were well placed for the multiplayer segment, but in single player I found my self accidentally pulling out my binoculars too often when I click in the left thumbstick. Why did the creators even put binoculars INTO the single players?? Does anyone use them?? Also I found the movement a bit sluggish.

Entertainment (7): Exact same thing as almost every other shooter out there. The story is pretty generic, your main character doesn't even talk and all the other characters you meet are just plain unlovable even obnoxious, (Dickenson and Huxley get my vote). The enemies aren't very smart and some of the things the developers did were quite cheap, such as making your enemies respawn to artificially inflate the difficulty. Also, the little segments where you do hand to hand combat with a German soldier are pretty boring and there are too few of them. However, the segments DO show off the AMAZINGLY REALISTIC expressions of the soldiers, for that I say kudos to Spark Interactive. If you want real entertainment, the multiplayer is probably the better pick.

Replay Value (5): This could have been made higher by adding a Co-op feature. Once you beat the campaign there isn't much left but some extras, like pictures of the guns you used and crap like that. The multiplayer should keep you entertained for a couple months though.

Multiplayer (6) : Ahh, multiplayer: The main reason I buy FPS's. The multiplayer in this has ALOT of problems. There is a fair amount of lag, not allot but you WILL find your self dying 3 or 4 seconds after getting fatally shot. It is almost impossible to get into a ranked game at times. Where are the British and Russian weapons?? I want my PPSH!!! Its only Americans versus Germans and lemme tell you if you find your self on the German side, good luck. The weapons are inaccurate and it is ridiculous how excellent the American weapons are. Other problems:

- Thompson is more powerful than MP40
- Sniper Rifles take more than one shot to kill someone, even when you shoot him in the chest. These bullets were up top 6 or 7 INCHES long, in real life, if you get hit by one of those things you are down for the count.
- American Bazookas have scopes on them; German Bazookas have crappy iron sights.
- The support weapons are ridiculously inaccurate when crouching and when prone, you aim through an iron sight which makes it impossible to see what you're trying to aim at.
- Lack of realism. You can shoot a guy in the chest three, four, even five times with a Kar 98 or Garrand without killing him

Pros:
- Drivable vehicles in multiplayer such as Tanks and Jeeps
- Improved graphics
- Class Based Warfare

Cons:
- Unequal odds against Germans in multiplayer
- Lag and difficulty finding ranked match
- Lack of Realism (If you're shot in the chest more than two or three times and still standing you must be superman)
- Multiplayer shouldn't interest you for more than a month or so

So I hope this review was helpful to you, it is my first and I had a limited amount of time in writing it so I hope you'll pardon any errors you might find.
